Primary 5A have had another amazing week where we displayed respectful and safe behaviour. We have continued to adapt well to the new routines and procedures in the school.

Outdoor Education  We had a fantastic time in the woodlands creating our own secret gardens as part of our class Topic. The children had fun building there gardens around the doors that had been built into the  trees.

.

Literacy – We  created character profiles based on Mary Lennox from the Secret Garden. We used a variety of adjectives and adjective phrases to describe her then drew pictures of her exactly matching the description in our writing. Reading comprehension was based on our topic, we discussed the author’s use of language and answered questions on the text.

Maths – We have been learning about compass points and how they are used in real life situations. We used directions to find various places on our map. Primary 5 have been trying really hard to learn our tables and improve our scores in our Big Maths weekly challenge!

Topic –  We created a class mind map based on our Secret Garden Topic and completed our water colour tree pictures.

Physical Education – Primary 5 participated in a 12 minute cross country run where we tried to improve our stamina and technique with Mrs Lafferty.

Hot Chocolate Winner – Congratulations to Alessio, who was nominated for the hot chocolate award for going over and above during lessons and activities!
