P1B Week Beginning 7th September

It has been another very busy week in Primary 1B.

This week we have been looking at number 5 and forming all our numbers to five correctly using the correct starting point.

We have been learning about the letter c and the sound it makes.  We know c is a yellow sound and it is a short bouncy sound.  The sound comes from the back of our throat.  We are able to recall words that start with c and also words that end with c.  We made beautiful crowns and practiced forming the letter.

In writing this week we wrote a sentence about what we can do.  Mrs Russell and Mrs Meikle were very proud of us.  We are trying to remember to use finger spaces and a full stop at the end of our sentence to show we are finished.

This week we had our first outdoor learning session we really enjoyed having the opportunity to practice writing our numbers and letters with chalk.

We have started to learn Spanish.  We can say hello and goodbye in Spanish.  We also found Spain on a map and discussed how far away it is from Scotland.  We also looked at the Spanish flag.  We can’t wait to learn some new words next week.

We have had lots of fun this week.

I like to play with the blocks so much.  I made a dinosaur. (Haadiya)

I like playing at playtime.  (Ksawery)

I like playing with the Numicon shapes and blocks.  (Sean)

I like running and jumping outside.  (Scott)

I like learning.  (Addison)

Have a great weekend everyone and we will see you again on Monday for another exciting week of learning 🙂
