The famous Scottish author  Lari Don visited St . Columba’s today to talk to the children about her Spellchasers trilogy. To say the children were excited is an understatement,                                                                                        

Lari was very impressed with the artwork from the first book that the children did with Mr Bennett our Art Specialist and took some photos to put on her facebook page.

Lari got the children to create a chapter for a book and helped them develop their ideas by asking them questions. In her own words she says that she does not write a story but answers questions and the answers to the questions then form the story.

The class went over our allotted time because of the questions they asked. Both Lari and I were impressed with the quality of the questions – ones that needed a well thought response.

As a gift each child got a signed postcard. We will shortly be putting in an order for novels with personalised messages from Lari. Details later.
