Last night P4-7 presented music and presentations from the 1940’s, 1960’s and the 1980’s. The show surpassed all expectations with all performances being even better than the practices.
Before the show the excitement was “fever pitch”!
P4/5 sang amazingly starting with that well known favourite by The Proclaimers “Letter from America”
Parents and Carers enthusiastically joined in singing along and joining in with “The Locomotion”. Those who could remember joined in with the actions! Mrs Donnelly and Mrs Potter leading from the back!
Their singing of “Stand By Me” sent shivers down my spine said Miss Angus. Dylan from P7 particularly enjoyed it.
Their other songs “An Octopus’ Garden and I Get Around ” had everyone groovin especially Mrs McAdam from behind the scenes supervising the children on stage.
During the intermissions between the “decades” Mrs Mitchell had the audience participating in activities and remembering things from the time.
P6/7 remembered the 1940’s. They started with “Run Rabbit Run” to which Carla tap danced. The “Chatanooga Choo Choo and Boogy Woogy Bugle Boy” had everyone swingin! Keiran stepped in at last minute to do a beautiful duet with Emma. Mrs Mitchell thought it was very touching.
The Grand Finale was… …amazing!
Emma from P5/6 sang a powerful rendition of “Thank You For The Music” Everyone joined in with the singing and dancing.
The encore was a fantastic singalong or rockalong of “Rockin All Over The World”
Congratulations to the winners of “Best Dressed” and a huge thank you to all for helping us us share our learning.
