P6/7 have been “talking about numbers” to find different, and then the most efficient strategies to solve number problems. Working in groups of 3 or 4 the children could choose from the menu of “mild, hot and spicy” for their problems.
Taking it in turn to be the group leader, they would choose the problem from the appropriate set on the menu, say what the problem was and on post its show how they solved the problem. The leader then led the discussions on what their strategies were and as a group decided which one was the most efficient and why.
Today we were finding fractions of numbers.
