Let’s count
We talked about how young children learn about counting through sharing stories, games and activities.
We played a game where we rolled a dice, counted the dots and matched the counters to the dots.
We sang 5 little monkeys jumping on the bed.
We listened to a story called 10 little snowflakes.
We put 5 hula hoops on our fingers. If we ate 1 how many are left?
We made a painting with dot pattern stamps and numbers.

During our topic ‘People who help us’ the children enjoyed a visit from our friendly Community Police Officers, they were talking to the children about staying safe crossing the road and the role of a Police Officer and how they help people. Muir asked, “What do Policemen use to help them do their jobs?”
“They have a police car with flashing lights ” said Josh
Brodie said, Police catch bad guys, bad guys on the road”
Steven said, “a walkie talkie”
PC Muir asked, “How do we cross the road safely?”
“Road not safe, use your listening ears” said Amelia
“When there is no cars you can cross the road”, said Josh
