Seafield Primary School

Be Your Best

Primary 6/7 – Friday 1st May

Primary 6/7 have had a brilliant week in school with lots of fantastic learning activities in class. On Friday morning, we discussed our week in school and decided that we would like to share these thoughts about our learning this week:

Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well):

  • Lots of us enjoyed Writing this week as we started our focus on the “Explanation” text type by writing about wind turbines. Most of us managed to complete the writing task and enjoyed learning about this genre of writing
  • We enjoyed creating our Seafield Gala Day competition entries for designing the front cover of the Gala Day programme because many people included excellent drawings and designs
  • We all really enjoyed getting some Article 31 free time and fresh air with our time outdoors this week with the lovely weather
  • Our Primary 7s enjoyed making decisions about the songs that they are choosing to sing at their leaver’s assembly
  • Our Primary 6s enjoyed working on their projects because they are making good progress and adding good detail
  • Lots of the Primary 7s enjoyed their second English transition lesson about the excellent novel, “Ghost Boys”
  • Most of us enjoyed our Maths lessons about Distance, Speed and Time this week, as we learned about how to do the calculations using different formulae
  • We felt that we did very well as we started our WWII topic presentations which will continue next week
  • Many of us enjoyed working on control and passing in our focus on football in PE

Green for Growth (things that we need to do to improve our learning)

  • Some people found creating our Gala Day competition entries a little stressful due to the deadline for them being submitted
  • Some of us were a little disappointed that we weren’t able to leave the school this week for Outdoor Learning as we didn’t have another adult to come out with us

Our school value award winners for this week are Emma-Jo and Henry. Massive congratulations to them!

Well done P6/7 for a wonderful week in school. Have a lovely long weekend and see you all on Tuesday.
