P3 News

It has been a busy but terrific week in Primary 3.

We enjoyed our Travelling by Tuba workshops this week with Chris and Stewart. We learned to play lots of instruments, keeping in time with each other and performing together for the whole school. It was quite tricky but we all had fun!

As the Royal wedding is coming up this weekend, we did some persuasive writing. We wrote letters to the Royal family, persuading them to invite is to the wedding. In class we have also designed some of our own lovely Royal Wedding cakes!

We loved our Danceathon this morning and enjoyed showing each other our best dance moves!

Have a lovely long weekend! Remember to keep safe in the sun!

Triathlon News.

A group of 23 P5 -P7’s had the fantastic opportunity to compete in the West Lothian Schools’ Triathlon on 17th May 2018.

This event consisted of a 50m swim, 1000m bike ride and a 500m run.

It was such a privilege and pleasure to take these Murrayfield ambassadors to this event. Each and every competitor conducted themselves in a respectable manner and participated with enthusiasm and perseverance and I am proud to say that every participant completed the triathlon! What a fantastic achievement.

Outdoor Learning – Access to Playgrounds

Outdoor learning is a part of our curriculum and during the school day we may be using the surrounding playgrounds as an outdoor learning space.  We require these areas to remain available to allow for outdoor learning to take place at any time and for health and safety reasons we cannot permit parents/ carers into the playground until the end of the school day.  Please do not open gate/ enter the playground until after 3.15pm.

Thank you for your support

Learning about Ramadan

Today we were learning about what happens during Ramadan, which starts during next week.

We are lucky to have Ahtasham and Khizar to help us with our learning, and they kindly brought in prayer mats, prayer hats and beads for us to look at.  They even taught us some words in Urdu!

Chloe tried on some clothing which we thought was really pretty with lovely intricate designs.

We were interested to find out how hungry Ahtasham and Khizar would be feeling during Ramadan and were really impressed by their language skills.
