P7/6 news

P7/6 used co-ordinates to locateĀ  and plot objects within a grid during Numeracy.

We have started with research on our Author who will be visiting us soon and are preparing to write a persuasive piece of text using the notes we have made.

This week P7/6 learners worked hard using comprehension skills to create and build an Easter Garden during RME.

We hope that everyone had a great Easter and are feeling well rested and ready for the last leg of learning until summer.

News From P7/6

We are wishing everyone a great world book day! Have fun snuggling up with a cup of something nice and your favorite book.

P7/6 have been working on division and using a variety of strategies to solve problems. When things get though the boys and girls have shown great perseverance and resilience.

We have great fun with P7 on our trip to the Science centre in Glasgow and had the fantastic opportunity to program robots using code!

News from P7/6

This week we have been working with equivalent fractions. We all realized how important our multiplication and division knowledge is when working with these fractions.

Mrs Stuart worked with us on problem solving and she taught us how to play Soduko. It really makes your brain work!

P7/6 is working with STEM this term (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)

Through using STEM activities we have learned how to work effectively in a group. This means that everyone has a voice and that what we contribute matters. This week we looked at chain reactions and had the opportunity to build and design our own.

P7’s have been working hard on their steps for next weeks transition Ceilidh and are all looking forward to this wonderful experience.

Triathlon News.

A group of 23 P5 -P7’s had the fantastic opportunity to compete in the West Lothian Schools’ Triathlon on 17th May 2018.

This event consisted of a 50m swim, 1000m bike ride and a 500m run.

It was such a privilege and pleasure to take these Murrayfield ambassadors to this event. Each and every competitor conducted themselves in a respectable manner and participated with enthusiasm and perseverance and I am proud to say that every participant completed the triathlon! What a fantastic achievement.

Learning about Ramadan

Today we were learning about what happens during Ramadan, which starts during next week.

We are lucky to have Ahtasham and Khizar to help us with our learning, and they kindly brought in prayer mats, prayer hats and beads for us to look at.Ā  They even taught us some words in Urdu!

Chloe tried on some clothing which we thought was really pretty with lovely intricate designs.

We were interested to find out how hungry Ahtasham and Khizar would be feeling during Ramadan and were really impressed by their language skills.

News from P6

We have been working very hard with our student teacher Mrs. Murrell.

As part of our topic the human body we conducted a science experiment and recreated the digestive system. This was messy but so much fun.

A big thank you to all the boys and girls who brought in their homework on the digestive system, you worked really hard on this.

In Numeracy we are working hard on subtraction and division strategies. Some of these strategies are proving rather tricky.
