Today, our Primary 5 pupils headed to East Calder Sports Center to demonstrate their handball skills against other schools in our cluster. P5 did a fantastic job representing Mid Calder Primary, demonstrating all of our school values as well as great sportsmanship, team work, communication skills and motivation to achieve. Well done Primary 5!

Scottish Cup visits MCPS!
Today we hosted the Scottish Cup as part of Hibernian Football Club #Persevered Tour. This tour visits 114 venues across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, and they shared the story of their victory and shared message of the importance of preserving.

Gala Football Team
Congratulations to our Gala Football Team who came a close second in the competition.
Mid Calder Gala Day 2016
A big thank you to everyone who walked with the school during the Gala Day Parade – your costumes were fantastic! A big well done to our Gala Relay Team.
P7 Sports Festival
12 P7’s were chosen to represent Mid Calder Primary at this years sports festival held at Craigswood. They participated in both track and field events.
- Long jump
- shot putt
- 600m
- 80m sprint
- boys and girls 4x relay.
The children behaved extremely well and supported each other as a team. They all gave 100% and pushed themselves to meet their full potential. Kasse was victorious in the shot putt and came home with a gold medal. Well done! We all had a fantastic day and enjoyed taking our skills from the gym hall to a competitive event.
Sports Day 2016
The sun was shining on Mid Calder this morning as P1-7 went up to the field to take part in Sports Day. There was a range of activities on offer including: football shoot out, welly throwing, obstacle races, hurdles and lots more. A big thank you to Mrs Mitchell, our P.E. specialist for organising such a successful and enjoyable Sports Day and thank you to all the parents and families who came along to support the event.
Congratulations to Calderwood who were the overall winners!
British Heart Foundation sponsored skip
Please remember to be collecting sponsors for our skipping challenge taking place next week. The school is taking part during PE classes throughout next week. Bring in your form and money to school from Monday. The school receives 20 per cent of the sponsorships with the British Heart Foundation receiving the rest. Sponsor forms have already been taken home, collect another from Miss Gordon if needed!
