Sharing Our Learning
In class we have been doing lots of activities in literacy and science based on Superworm. To finish off our mini topic we decided to learn about wormeries and their purpose. We then took our learning outdoors and created our own ‘wormeries’.
This week P3/2 developed their use of ICT with the help of 4 amazing P6/5 helpers. As a class we logged into our own laptops and learned how to research information. We then created our own fact files on Robert Burns.
P3/2 explored a range of different musical instruments. We used the instruments to go along with the chant from Superworm. Superworm is super long. Superworm is super strong. Watch him wiggle, see him squirm. HIP HIP HOORAY FOR SUPERWORM. Great work P3/2!
We have had a great start to Term 3! In class we have been taking part in a book study. We chose ‘Superworm’ by Julia Donaldson. During literacy we have made predictions, created questions for the author, clarified words we were unsure of and summarised the most important parts. We then created character profiles and wrote our own animal poems. Yesterday in Science we took part in a science experiment called ‘Dancing Worms’. We made predictions about which liquid would make the worms dance and then worked collaboratively to carry out the experiment and write up a report.
P3/2 had a great time at their Christmas Party! We played lots of different games, danced and sang along to different songs. We then had a special visitor all the way from the North Pole in our class this afternoon. Check out the previous post for pictures of Santa visit and Santa Dash.
