It has been another busy and exciting week in Primary 2/1! 🌟

This week, we have been learning all about healthy eating and how making healthy choices helps to keep our bodies strong and healthy. We then put our learning into practice by making our very own fruit kebabs, developing our skills in cutting carefully and safely. 🍎🍌🍊

Later in the week, we became scientists and took part in a fun bubble experiment using water and fairy liquid! 🫧 We investigated who could blow the biggest bubble, whose bubble would last the longest and even explored how we could put our hand inside a bubble without it popping. The children loved making predictions, testing their ideas and discussing what they discovered.

To finish off our busy week, we began our recycling project. ♻️ We are reusing plastic bottles to create our very windmills and wind catchers learning how we can turn something that might normally be thrown away into something creative and useful.

What a fantastic week of learning, investigating and creating!

P2/1 have been enjoying digging in the garden and discovering mini beasts. This week, we began our Mini Beasts topic by learning about worms, including where they live, what they eat and how they move.

We then went outside to search for worms and other creatures before creating our own wormeries to observe how worms move through the soil. We had lots of fun exploring, getting muddy and learning all about mini beasts!

What a fabulous day at Aberdour Beach! The whole school (and the teachers) had an amazing time enjoying the beach. From building impressive sandcastles, digging for treasure to paddling in the water, there were smiles all round! It was great to see everyone enjoying time together, making memories and having lots of fun.

What a fabulous first week in Primary 2/1! It has been lovely to get to know your child this week. We have had lots of fun painting, making play dough, participating in outdoor games with the parachute, making boats and planes with Lego, and we had a successful first lesson learning all about the Solar Eclipse. We can’t wait for week 2 to begin learning more!

P3/2 enjoyed becoming electricians for the afternoon, constructing circuits and experimenting with a variety of components to see how each one contributed to the circuit.
