Marty the Robot

P3/2 kicked off science week with some outdoor learning using Marty the Robot. We worked collaboratively using our critical thinking skills on how to get Marty the Robot from one side of the MUGA to the other using different movements. Each group then decided to race their Marty the Robot. We had so much fun we have asked Miss Smith if we can learn more about Marty and Programming!

Our P6/7 STEM leads then planned and delivered a science experiment. We made predictions about what we thought would happen and worked as a team to carry the experiment out!

Well-being Week

This week, we have had a fantastic time celebrating Well-being Week!
Throughout the week, we have explored the 5 Ways to Well-being – connect, keep learning, be active, take notice and give. The children took part in a variety of activities, from silent discos and smoothie bikes to martial arts, dance and fitness sessions. During hobby time, they had the chance to learn new skills such as painting, baking, play dough making and music. We also loved the chance to socialise with other classes, especially while sharing snack. In our classes we enjoyed playing board and card games and connecting with our teacher over some hot chocolate. A lovely week has been had!

Languages Week in P3/2

P3/2 have enjoyed learning lots of different ways to communicate. We collaborated in groups to create outdoor French games to teach P4 about the weather in French, learned how to say hello how are you in Spanish and Sign language. We then enjoyed a Spanish, Greek, Portuguese, Polish and Cantonese workshop. We finished off our Languages week by learning all about Braille and learned how to spell our names in Braille.

P3/2 and P4 Benchball

P3/2 and P4 have been learning how to play Benchball. Over the past weeks, they have been developing throwing, passing and movement techniques. Today they applied what they had learned and played their first game of Benchball. It was great to see both classes communicating and collaborating in their teams, as well as the sportsmanship from others.

P3/2 ‘cannae’ stop singing!

P3/2 have been learning about Robert Burns this week in preparation for our school assembly. We linked this learning to our new class topic, Scotland. We have enjoyed learning lots of different aspects and we are looking forward to learning lots more. This week we focused on the Scots language and used this to create pop art inspired by Scots words. As part of our assembly preparations we have been learning the song “Ye cannae Shove Yer Granny Aff the Bus”. We’ve been loving the song so much that we broke into song during our Scot word art lesson!
