Sharing Our Learning
This week in P6/5/4 we have been practising our place value using different games. We used our dienes and number counters to build numbers.
We also practised writing our numbers in words using a set of playing cards.
Lots of collaboration and communication within our groups while playing our games, and some great recall of our place value.
We have had a great first week back to school in P6/5/4! We have played some games to get to know our new classmates. We have discussed our rights within our class and have come up with some rules we will follow linked to our rights.
In P6/5/4 we also created some art were we drew a self portrait. Within our portrait we include things that we are good at, things we enjoy doing, something we are looking forward to learning this year and a goal for this coming year. It was great to see so many different interests and hobbies within our class!
This week it was P6/5’s turn to head to the Forest with Rob from Kids Gone Wild.
Before , during and after our forest session we spoke about risk taking and how we can make sensible decisions based on our surroundings.
P6/5 enjoyed making dens, exploring the forest and the local wildlife and playing games.
We all got the chance to try a hammock, some of us enjoyed it a bit too much !
We also tried walking the slack line and some of us even tried horizontally climbing along the rope.
P6/5 had a great afternoon in the forest and can’t wait for our next adventure!
Our final day has arrived all the children have enjoyed their final activities at Lockerbie. This morning we all did Manor Olympics where we played different team games by collaborating together. Our final sessions were initiative and bivvi where we used our problem solving skills and critical thinking skills to build dens and worked to solve tricky challenges. We are all excited to get back home and tell everyone what we have been up to over the last few days 😊
Everyone arrived safely at camp yesterday and had a fantastic day. After settling into our rooms we went abseiling, climbing, the obstacle course and axe throwing.
We are up bright and early this morning for breakfast and ready for another day 😊.
