Messy fun

The afterschool slime club had great fun today making oobleck. We were all amazed at the texture and consistency of oobleck. It’s a non Newtonian fluid that acts as both a solid and a liquid. It it’s made from cornflour and water-simple!

Sorry for the messy clothes. It will wash off easily.

P6/5 Interest Stations

This week in P6/5 we began our new block of Interest Stations. We used our critical thinking and creativity skills to create different animals and characters.

One group practiced their fondant modelling skills, whilst another practiced using their hands and tools to create models using air dry clay.

We can’t wait to improve these skills next week!

P6/5

This week we have started to look at information reports in writing. This has encouraged the children in O6/5 to do their own research on different topics that they are interested in. They have used their critical thinking skills to choose what to research, identify the key facts and organise their ideas.

Joyeux Noël

During our French lesson today P7/6 played a loop game, a bit like dominoes, using some French terms for Christmas objects and events.

We had to match the picture to the correct French word or phrase.

Bien joué!

Titanic

P6/5 have been enjoying their IDL this term, learning all about the Titanic. We have been creating a timeline of the events of the night the Titanic sank and learning about some of the jobs onboard. We have been looking at how the ship hit the iceberg and subsequently sank. We have had some lively debates about whether the Captain was at fault or not.

Today we all collaborated to make a display Titanic. We were so busy during this that we forgot to take some pictures but this is our finished result. We’re very happy with how it turned out.
