P5 Maths

In p5 we have been learning about length in maths. 1 cm also means 10mm and 2cm also means 20mm. Miss Hewlett gave us different sizes of rulers and we had to measure different lengths on a worksheet. I want to learn more. I understood it quite fast and I really enjoyed it!

P3 Visit Edinburgh Castle

Both P3 classes went to Edinburgh Castle as part of their Scottish Castles topic. We enjoyed spotting all of the special features of castles that we had been learning about. Thankfully, the portcullis stayed up until after we had left! We were also glad that Mr Clark and Mrs Turnbull didn’t leave us behind in the dungeons! Here are some photos of the great time we had.

After creating our crowns, we dressed up as people who would have worked and lived in the castle, and we visited the Great Hall.

We spotted this road name, and think this is where Ramsay the rat, who has been visiting our class, comes from!

The Victorians

In p2 we have been learning about the Victorians. Our classroom looks like it has gone back in time to Victorian times. We made house maids and butlers and some rich Victorians. We also enjoyed watching the film Oliver. Just after the Easter holidays we are going to visit Hopetoun House to find out more.
