P3 Learning Activities

Good morning P3.

I hope you have had a good week and found our learning activities fun and useful.

I have included a Storyline online book today for class reading as I know how much you love that site and there was a new book available. The focus of the book is music, which led me to include some information about another abstract artist Wassily Kandinsky. I hope you enjoy learning about him and the art he created. I hope you will give this style of art a go and have fun with it.

I hope you have enjoyed the 10 minute shake ups for your other task this week! There has been some brilliant photos of how people have been getting on in the tasks! Enjoy your weekend and I will catch up with everyone on Monday!

P.s. Here is Kala ‘helping’ me plan next weeks activities! (Or is he just being a pest, putting his Mum off work, I’ll pretend it’s option 1)

Primary 2/1 – Alphabet 5.6.20

We have covered every sound and letter of the alphabet.  I am very impressed at your enthusiasm to learn

  • the letter sound
  • the letter name

Now you are experts on this.  Can you watch the alphabet clip to see all the sounds together:

Play the game ‘What is the letter?’ with Jack Hartman

P3/2 – Friday 5th June

Good morning P3/2,

We have reached Friday again and there are only three more weeks of school left for this year.  You are all doing amazingly well and I love seeing and hearing what you have been doing.

Below is your grid for today.  In literacy we are focusing on our tricky words again.  Remember the words you are working with will be personal to you.  If you are not sure about the words you used last week then work with those words again.  It is more important to be able to spell some of the words automatically than keep moving on to new ones.  In maths there is a problem solving sheet and if you haven’t tried the little assessment on Sumdog try to get it done today.  I have another chore/life skill for you to try today to help at home.

Friday 5th June

Have a  great day and fingers crossed the sunshine comes back for the weekend.

P3 Learning Activities

Good morning,

Today we continue our learning with Division and looking at number patterns. Ask an adult to help you, if you find the questions challenging.

Remember to use concrete materials for sharing out and making groups. You can use paper cut up into small bits or you could choose to use pencils, cutlery, playing cards or lego bricks. You could use Lol dolls, action figures, Pokemon or other toys you can share out or make groups with. Keep doing this until you are comfortable with sharing and grouping, then write the sum you have made in your jotter. You can then write down the fact families.

example: 3 x 5= 15

5 x 3=15

15 ÷ 3=5

15 ÷ 5=3

The focus for our challenge is to look at the Eatwell plate with an adult. Do this by googling Eatwell plate Scotland. I also sent a link to some interesting STEM challenges yesterday. As it is a rainy day, you may wish to ask an adult to help you complete one of the challenges. See the link below. If it doesn’t work by clicking on then copy and paste it into your web browser.

https://leftbraincraftbrain.com/superhero-stem-activities-for-kids/

I have selected another reading book for each group and I have set a class book for everyone to try. The class text is tricky, so ask an adult to read it with you or to you and discuss what you have read.

I hope you all have a good day today but if you are feeling bored being stuck inside, then try another of Joe Wicks, The Body Coach’ s daily workouts or Cosmic kids yoga. Both make you feel good and help you stay healthy.

Primay 1 – Thursday 4th June

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well! I have attached today’s learning grid below! I hope you enjoy writing some instructions about making a jam sandwich! Maybe you could even make a jam sandwich for lunch to test out your set of instructions to see if you’ve missed any steps! For your instructions, if you would like to just draw the pictures ive put on the document in order that would also be a great start!

Have fun,

Miss D 🙂

P3/2 – Thursday 4th June

Good morning P3/2,

Happy Thursday everybody.  I don’t know about you but I am finding it a bit chilly this morning.  I would like the sunshine back.

Below is our grid for today.  I have given you a choice of three reading sheets today which use lots of our reading skills – inferring, predicting, summarising and understanding vocabulary.  As always choose the one that you feel is best for you.  In maths we are going to continue with volume work and in our topic we are going to find out how Lego originally started.  Finally I have some special challenges for you to try in PE.

Thursday 4th June

Have a wonderful day.
