Good Morning Primary 2/1 and P1

How are you all? Mrs Carr, Mrs Meek and Miss Suen have all been missing you. As it is almost the Easter Break and it will be time to stop doing  school work and have some fun, you might want to have a look at the link below…(especially all you Harry Potter fans out there!)

Mrs Fairley’s Writing Competition

April 1, 2020 by Mrs Fairley | 0 comments

We have come to the end of our Whole School Book Month and unfortunately didn’t get to complete all of the exciting things we had planned. One of the things we were going to do involved someone from each class winning a trip to Waterstones Bookshop to enjoy some hot chocolate and choose a class book.  With that in mind I am setting a whole school Writing competition with the chance to win that trip to Waterstones once we are back to normal (P7 we will arrange you don’t miss out if it’s after the Summer!).

On my daily walks with my dog Bruno I come across this door in the local woods and I’ve chosen this as the topic for our story competition.

Let your imagination run wild and be as creative as you can be, I look forward to reading them 🙂

P2 THE STORY OF ‘ch’ and ‘ie’

Hello Primary 2.
We’ve attached the “Story of…” for this week’s spelling words. We’ve not highlighted the spelling words however…that’s your job this week! How many “ch” and “ie” words can you find in the text? Are those words nouns (people, places or things), verbs (doing words) or adjectives (describing words)? Are there any tricky common words there?
Maybe challenge someone else in your family to do the task at the same time and compare answers.
Extra challenge: can you spot any Word Boost words?
We’ll put the answers up on Friday.
Take care,
Mrs Kohler and Mrs Duff

P2D Walking on Sunshine!

Hello P2D! Another lovely day so far.
I switched on the radio this morning and guess the song I heard – Walking on Sunshine by Katrina and the Waves.
It made me think of my lovely class brushing their teeth and trying hard not to sing and bop and the same time! It made me smile. I hope you are all remembering to brush your teeth to keep those fantastic smiles shiny.
Why not get an adult to download Walking on Sunshine and have a good singalong and practise your dance moves.
Take care.
