Health and Well being P2/1 and P1- Fitness

Fitness for P1 and P2/1

Good afternoon boys and girls. I hope you have been working hard and enjoying the activities set out for you so far.  It is really important that we are all still moving and keeping our bodies active.

Learning Intention :- We are learning to take part in exercises that raise our heart rate.

Today we are going to play , Would You Rather Workout(Fix and Play)

The video clip will show you 2 pictures and you have to choose one of them .  The pictures will disappear and you will see children doing some fun movements.  You need to do the one that was behind your picture.  You do this for 20 seconds and then 2 more pictures will appear. Each time you choose a picture. Don’t worry you do get a wee rest during it.

Before you start make sure you have a little bit of space to move and you aren’t going to hurt anyone around you.

Are you ready? I hope you enjoy it and have fun!

P1 and P2/1 Health and Wellbeing

 Good afternoon boys and girls!

We hope you have had  a good morning?

Today we are learning to identify 5 different ways of showing kindness

We definitely know in P1 and P2/1, that being kind is a big part of being a good friend!

Watch the story:  “Be Kind”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6NUJ2JZz50

  1. Can you think of 5 ways you can show kindness
  1. Draw around your hand
  1. Get an adult to write or help you to write your 5 ways to be kind to others on each of the fingers!

*This activity is also on Seesaw so if you have your logins you could have a go on there if not you could send us a photo of your friendship hands to the school email address!

Maths

Hello primary 1 and primary 2/1…

Today in maths we are going to show you a few more ways that you can continue to practise your number formation at home.

First have a look at the website doorway online:

https://www.doorwayonline.org.uk/activities/letterformation/

You can use your ‘magic fingers’ in the air to follow along with the numbers. Can you make it faster? (this is also a fantastic website for letter formation for future reference).

Next have a little look through:

Number formation rhyme powerpoint

Then complete:

Literacy

Good Morning Primary 1 and Primary 2/1.
Today we are going to have a little look at our ‘high frequency words’. These are very important and come up a lot in our reading books.

Below are our ‘high frequency word’ grids (these are the same grids that are in your homework jotters). Please check which words you know already (starting with the first 100) and then choose 4 or 5 new words to practise today. These words should not be ‘sounded out’ but should be memorised by sight alone.

First-100-High-Frequency-Words

Second-100-High-Frequency-Words

Third-100-High-Frequency-Words

Here are some fun activities to try at home:

  1. Read a story book  or listen along to an audio book with an adult. Can you spot some common words? Perhaps you could put your hands on your head each time you hear the word ‘and’ or ‘the’.
  2. Make flashcards with an adult using paper and pens. Can you test each other?
  3. Can you write your common words in colourful rainbow letters?
