Birthdays are important in the nursery! This is brought home to us when adults returning to nursery, either as students or parents, can nearly all remember their birthday at the nursery and getting to play the ‘Happy Birthday’ music box. The children gather together in the middle area to sing Happy Birthday. The birthday child gets to wear the birthday hat, if they choose, and also receive a birthday sticker.  Being centre stage and allowing everyone at nursery to sing to you can be quite daunting. This can be a big milestone for some children when they are willing to take part in this celebration. The children now get to take home a photograph certificate of their birthday at nursery while their photograph is also pinned up on our Birthday display.
