Primary 7 collected and bought some toys to be donated to children who may not receive as much as them this Christmas. They contacted Riverkids who were happy to take all of the much needed toys from them! Well done P7 you are all very responsible citizens and should be proud of the effort you have made. Many children will now wake up on Christmas morning and have a big smile on their faces!

Blackridge pupils support Christmas Jumper Day on the 16th December and raise an amazing £210 for Save the Children!!!

West Lothian Council has launched its public information campaign Winter Ready West Lothian 2016/17.

The campaign highlights the council’s preparations for possible severe weather and encourages local people to prepare now. Severe winter weather can include snow, frost and low temperatures, high winds and flooding.

Primary 6 have been assigned by Mrs Ross to hold an event for Children In Need. We have started to sell Pudsey ears for £2.50 at the tuck shop. You are also invited to dress up in spotty clothes on Friday for a £1 donation to Children In Need. On the day we will be doing a spotty treasure hunt for 20p. We will also be doing a spot the goalie for 20p. In the staff room we will put up a poster for spot the cake. We will come round the classes on Friday or Monday to tell you how much we raise.

Primary 6

Primary 6 showed what a talented bunch they are today when they used their assembly to present their learning in science. We have been learning about various inventors and how they have made our lives safer, easier or more fun with their inventions. Then we created our own inventions to help to solve a problem we had identified. Today, Ant (Ellie) and Dec (Thomas), with the help of the rest of Primary 6, introduced their new show Inventors Have Talent, to tell the rest of the school community all about what we have learnt. Well done Primary 6!

Primary Seven had an exciting day out to Musselburgh Races where they took part in lots of maths activities. Everyone enjoyed the day out and now have a much better idea of how much maths is involved in horse racing!

P5 went to Hopetoun House for the day. Everyone was given a role to play. Samuel got to be the most important person, the butler.

Chloe and Emily were the scullery maids, they got the blame for everything that went wrong!

It was really good fun learning about the jobs and responsibilities.

We got to write with quills and ink and even made our own butter with the butterchurn (which we tasted on a scone today!)
