P4 Fairtrade

Good morning Primary 4.

As it is Fairtrade Fortnight, choose one (or more!) of these challenges today.

1. Design a T-shirt advertising FAIRTRADE.
2. Create a recipe that includes FAIRTRADE ingredients.
3. Research and write 10 Top Facts about FAIRTRADE foods. (Use the internet and the Fairtrade leaflet you took home to help you.)

I hope you all have a great weekend and make the most of the snow before it melts!

P4 World Book Day

Good morning everyone. I hope you are going to have lots of fun playing in the snow today!

Here are some fun reading challenges you can do at home to celebrate World Book Day 2018! Make a list of all the challenges you complete and bring your list into school. The person who completes the most challenges will be awarded a prize!

1. Read wearing a hat.
2. Read to someone else.
3. Read in your pyjamas
4. Read to a pet.
5. Read a book that makes you happy.
6. Take it in turns to read a page aloud with someone else.
7. Read recipe instructions – and try it out!
8. Have your own Big Bedtime Read – don’t forget the toast and hot chocolate!
9. Make a list of your favourite books.
10. Make a fact file about your favourite author.

Hello Primary 4, I hope you are all having fun in the snow! Here are some home learning activities to choose from: 1. Write a recount of your snow day. Remember to include an opening paragraph, 2/3 paragraphs about what you did and write a finishing paragraph. Include interesting adjectives (wow words) and thoughts and feelings. 2. Create a piece of Snowy Day artwork and bring it into school to show everyone. 3. Use Sumdog or Topmarks to practise your Maths skills! (Topmarks.co.uk has some great games for literacy and other subjects too!) 4. Create a game that you can use to practise your times tables. Bring your game in so we can play it in class! Remember to include instructions on how to play the game. 5. Build a BFG character with snow (the BFG, Sophie, one of the other giants). Don’t forget to take a picture to show us! See you all soon!
