Burns Night Celebrations

We celebrated Burns Night today! We learned about Robert Burns by watching this video and listening to some poems https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qMxIBqpryG0.

We have listened to ‘The Gruffalo’ in Scots, printed some tartan patterns using cars and paint, drawn Robert Burns from observation, imagined haggis as an animal, made Loch Ness Monsters using playdough and loose parts, danced to Scottish music and played some Scottish playground games like Queenie! Finally we tasted some haggis, neeps and tatties while listening to Anthony recite Address to a Haggis (on this website –http://www.scotland.org/burns-haggis-address/).

We have also been practising our poem, ‘Jack and Jill’ and  ‘You Cannae Shove Yer Granny off a Bus’ for our assembly on Friday.
