Primary 2 – Tuesday 9th June

Good morning boys and girls, how are you today? Here are a few activities for this morning to complete.

LITERACY

Choose your favourite character from the book you read yesterday. Or from another book you enjoy. Can you complete the tasks below

MATHS

Here are a few problem solving tasks for you to complete. Ask an adult to change the numbers to make this more or less challenging for you if needed.

Good afternoon, how did you get on with your tasks this morning? Here are a few more for this afternoon.

MATHS

Let’s order some numbers today. Here is a game for you to play. Click on the ordering game and choose your own level. You can choose which numbers you wish to use. Try to challenge yourself as much as possible

Once you have played the game, make your own number cards. Write different numbers on small individual pieces of paper. Choose 4 or 5 and see if you can order them from smallest to largest, then largest to smallest. Then choose another 4/5 cards and order them too. Repeat as often as you can. You choose which numbers to use. You might want to make all your cards 0-10 or 0-50 or 0-100 or 0-10,000. Challenge yourself. Have fun!

 

PE

Complete some of these activities at home or in your garden. Try to encourage your family to join in. How many can you do? Have fun!

Good morning – Friday again. The weeks are flying by now. Hope you  have had a great week and have enjoyed seeing more of your family and friends outdoors.

LITERACY

Write about seeing your friends and family again outdoors. Write about who you saw this week, where you were, what you did, how did it feel after so long? Draw a picture to match your story. Remember to use capital letters, full stops and fingers spaces. Try to use interesting vocabulary to describe your feelings.

Good morning everyone. How are you all today? Here are your tasks for this morning.

LITERACY

Choose a book to read with an adult in your house. Read it together and answer the questions below

  1. Who were the main characters?
  2. List 3 events that happened in the story
  3. What happened first in the story?
  4. Where did the story take place?
  5. What is the book about?

In your jotter can you draw your favourite part of the story and write a sentence about it?

 

Practice writing your tricky words. Write them in chalk on the ground, in your jotter, in play-doh, using pasta, using stones outside etc

 

MATHS

Count forwards to 100 along with this video that I know you enjoy

 

Count backwards from 100 with this video

 

Complete this activity in your jotter – try to find the number before and after. Choose which one you want to complete. Try to challenge yourself. There is a 0-15 task, a 0-100 task and a 0-1000 task.

Art

Let’s do a bit of weaving! Now here is a list of things you will need for this activity.

  • Googly eye (or make one out of paper)
  • White or black card (or paper)
  • Scissors/glue
  • Colour paper (or colour your own strips of paper)

First, you need to cut out a shape of a sea creature, I have attached a picture of a fish but you could choose something else.

Then you need to cut straight lines across the shape of the animal.

Then you need to weave your strips of coloured paper over and under through the straight lines.

Finally, you can decorate your animal!
