Good Morning Primary 2! I hope you had a lovely week so far and enjoyed the sunshine we had.

Your Literacy writing task today is to watch a video and write 3 fun facts about what you have seen and heard. Here is the attachment for the link to the video and to explain the task:

Why not take a few minutes to listen to Newsround? Pick one of the items on the news that interested you and draw a picture. Write a few words underneath and label the picture to give the reader more information.

Art – Do you have unwanted newspaper, leaflets and magazines lying around? Why not create something with them. Use the pictures or colours in newspapers/magazines to create an image or mould the paper to make wall art. Here are some examples:

Literacy – For Writing, watch the following video on how to make a Jam Sandwich. Then write instructions for how to make a sandwich in your jotter:

You can put in your own fillings. My favourite ingredients for a sandwich are cheese, tomato and cucumber.

Remember:

  1. Include a Title
  2. Make a list of Equipment/Ingredients
  3. Write the steps in order
  4. Number each step and take a new line for each step
  5. Draw a picture for each step at the end

Now follow your Instructions with an adult and make your sandwich. Did you get the steps in order?

Some fun art to do. Remember, the honey comb cells where the bees deposit the honey are made in the shape of a hexagon. Can you make your own honey comb? You can use paper, cardboard, twigs of draw it. Here are some examples:
