This session the Primary 6 children from Balbardie Primary School are Nursery Carers and visit Bathgate West Nursery School as often as is possible during the year. They really love the experience of being good role models for the children in the nursery. Here are some pictures of the P6 Nursery Carers in action.

Autumn leaves are falling down…
The children have enjoyed learning about autumn, and used their senses to explore this colourful season. Groups have gone on autumn walks, dressed in wellies and warm coats, and have brought back a variety of leaves found in the park. We have created beautiful pictures with leaves and have also used them to make print paintings.
Zoolab at Bathgate West!
Creatures of the night made an appearance in our nursery…a tarantula, snake, rat, hermit crab and frog came to see us, and don’t forget about the cockroaches that skittered about on our gym mats! Don’t worry – we washed our hands after touching the animals and learned a new word: nocturnal!

bAtHgAtE wEsT is tHe BEST!
What a turn-out we had at the Gala Day Procession on Saturday – it was wonderful to see such an enormous flock of Happy Birds! Thank you to all of you who walked with us, and a huge thank you to all the staff and parents, lead by Mrs Bett, who worked very hard to make the day such an enjoyable success.
And…Bathgate West is yet again the best – we were awarded the Neil Butler Cup for First Prize!

Burns celebrations
Our nursery children will enjoy a taste of haggis, neeps and tatties during their nursery sessions on Thursday 24th January. We have been creating tartan patterns in our painting area, and have created a Highland dancer and piper to add to our Scottish display.
The nursery children will also have the opportunity to take part in Highland dancing and games. One of our parents has kindly agreed to pipe in the haggis as the children enjoy their snack – loads to look forward to!
We will add photographs of this event, so watch this space. 🙂
Nursery Christmas Fair!
This year, our nursery will have a Christmas stall at Balbardie Primary’s Christmas Fair on Saturday 1st December, 10am-12 o’clock.
Our nursery’s traditional Christmas Fair will take place on Wednesday 5th December, 6-8pm. Santa has been invited and there are lots of crafts and goodies to browse and purchase.
We look forward to seeing you there!
