A busy Monday morning

This morning the children have been exploring the first signs of Spring by painting still life Daffodils. Some beautiful pictures have been created which will be coming home very soon.

There has been a lot of amazing structures being built in the brick area and Lewis even managed to build his own drum kit!

The children have started building their own Volcano since there’s been a sudden interest in these. Throughout the week we will be experimenting to see if we can make a Volcano erupt!

Finally we have been learning about sharing with some new food items in the home area, where the children have been busy chopping fruit and veg.

Choo Choo Choo Tuesday!

On Tuesday the children had great fun outdoors.
We played on the grass side of the garden where there was lots of helping others, working together, turn taking and overcoming obstacles. We even had a picnic snack outside, fingers crossed the good weather keeps up.

On the other side of the garden, Mr Reynolds (Harry’s Dad) was busy helping with outdoor developments. He covered the poly tunnel and pinned it safely into the grass so we can use this space as a construction area and explore woodwork with the workbench. He also made a fantastic train for the children to extend their imaginative play by using some old nursery chairs, a cable reel and a wooden pallet.

We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Harry’s Dad for giving up his free time to help the nursery.

If anyone else would like to be involved or has contacts that can donate reels or pallets to the nursery please speak to a member of staff.

Thank you.

A HOT afternoon!

What a wonderful afternoon we had out in the garden. We had a kind donation of tyres which helped us extend our play by building a large racetrack. The children enjoyed taking turns racing round and round and were exposed to lots of mathematical language about being first, second and last. We discussed slow and fast and look at road safety.

The Sun has got his hat on hip hip hip hooray!

A lovely morning exploring our newly cut back and tidied garden. Racing on the bikes, completing obstacle courses and playing in the construction stone pit are a few of the activities which help develop the children gross motor and social skills.

We will be looking for helpers over the coming months to help out with outdoor developments. If you have any spare time at all and would like to help please pop by or speak to a member of staff. Thank you.
