Traditional Christmas Lunch with all the the trimmings!

The boys and girls settled down to a traditional Christmas Lunch today….. We pulled crackers, told jokes, and tucked into a feast of turkey and all the trimmings, all followed by a pudding. All children tried their lunch and there were even a few clean plates at the end. It was lovely to sit down together, using our knives and forks and sing some Christmas songs too. We are now feeling very festive ready for a big week ahead…Nativity and Parties! It certainly is beginning to feel a lot like Christmas here at Bathgate West.

Budding Chefs

The snack room has been a very busy place over the last few weeks with the children asking to bake an apple crumble and getting involved in making vegetable soup. Through the activities the children have been learning where their food produce comes from. They are showing an awareness of healthy food choices and experiencing valuable food preparation skills.

Children In Need

The children helped raise money for Children In Need today by coming to nursery in their jammies! It may have been wild outside but we were cosy inside keeping busy with Pudsey Bear crafts and having a Teddy Bears Picnic. Thank you to everyone who donated and we will keep you posted on how much we raised for Children In Need 2015.

Harvest Gifts

A big THANK YOU to everyone who donated gifts for our Harvest collection. This week the children have been handing over their Harvest gifts to the lovely ladies and gentlemen of Acredale and Caronvale in Bathgate. The children put on a fabulous performance for their visitors and we have received lots of thanks and high praise for the children from all of the lovely people who have met them this week.

Halloween Parties

It has all been a bit spooky at Bathgate West this week, with all of our Halloween activities in full swing, carving pumpkins, decorating pumpkins and filling our cauldrons all leading up to our Halloween Parties on Thursday. The children enjoyed the celebrations and looked fabulous in their super costumes.

Farmer Bert needs our help!

It has been a very exciting week as boys and girls at Bathgate West Nursery have been receiving some letters from a special friend called Farmer Bert asking for their help. Bert wants to be a Farmer and is hoping the boys and girls can help him learn about farms, harvest time and food that comes from farms. He has been sending letters setting the children challenges to help him. So we have been very busy this week finding out what we know about farms, building tractors, making Scarecrows and even making our own bread!

Have a look at our very busy week….so busy that it must be time for a holiday!
