What a fabulous party day we have all had at Bathgate West Nursery today! We dressed in our finest, danced and partied away to music, played party games, ate our party food and then a surprise visitor even dropped by to say hello and deliver some gifts. We sang some songs for Santa and he reminded us to thank our loved ones on Christmas day.

Parties over and it’s time to head off on our Christmas holidays. The staff would like to say a big thank you to everyone for their kind gifts, cards and Christmas wishes. We hope all of our families have a wonderful, happy and peaceful Christmas and we look forward to hearing about all the lovely things you receive and do over the holidays.

This week the children have been celebrating together with some delightful Christmas feasts. The morning children enjoyed a lovely Christmas breakfast and the afternoon children had a traditional Christmas dinner.

The nursery was smelling wonderful yesterday as the children were making mince pies. We rolled and filled the pastry with mincemeat and then had to wait while they baked in the oven. We then got to enjoy tasting our treats… we are definitely ready for Christmas now!

A huge well done to our little performers today during the morning session’s Nativity performance of ‘Come to the Manger’. By the second performance they had all found their confident loud singing voices that we knew were there! We hope the audience’s enjoyed their morning and a big well done to all of the children for putting on quite a show. Monday will see the turn of our afternoon children and we can’t wait to see if after a successful dress rehearsal today.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at Bathgate West Nursery! The children have been involved in creating some lovely festive displays around the nursery, they have been helping to decorate the Christmas Tree and also preparing the scenery for our upcoming Nativity. I think you will agree the nursery is all set and looking fabulous for a busy few weeks till Christmas!

We are also working hard to learn our songs and dances for this year’s Nativity performance ‘Come to the Manger’. Remember you can take a song word sheet to practice at home. We are looking forward to performing for our audiences in the next few weeks.
