Christmas fun in P1a!
P1a had a ball at the Christmas party last week. We danced, played games, ate party food and even had a visit from a very special person!
Ho Ho Ho!
P3 had fantastic fun at their Christmas Party. They played lots of games and enjoyed dancing to the music. It was lovely seeing all the children dressed up.
Then Santa dropped by our school to give P3 a letter from their class elf. Their class elf, Ralph, asked them to make a box using nets. I wonder why.
NHS Lothian Winter Respiratory Illness
NHS Lothian Winter Respiratory Illness
Dear Parent/Carers
The following advice below has been issued by NHS Lothian to help reduce the outbreaks of respiratory infections.
Key advice for parents and carers
In the home the risk of catching or spreading flu/cold like illness can be reduced by:
• Regular hand washing with liquid soap and running water
• Covering nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing
• Using a disposable paper tissue, disposed off immediately after use.
• You can teach your child to sneeze into the ‘crook’ of their arm rather than their hands, if they don’t have a tissue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQINuSTP1jI
• Good general cleaning of surface that everyone touches often e.g. TV remote, light switches, door handles, toilet flushes and tap heads.

Children should not return to school until completely well and 48 hours after symptoms have ceased.

News about P3
This week we have been learning about bossy verbs so we could write our instructions on how to make a jam sandwich. Bossy verbs are called imperative verbs and there is no please or thank you just being bossy! Once we had written our instructions we used them to try and make our sandwich.
We have also been learning about what shapes can and can not tile. We used what we knew about some 2D shapes to guess then we used the shapes to see if we were right. We then made our own tiling pattern.
