A great big ‘Thank You’ to the Fire Brigade

As many of you know there were multiple forest fires between Fauldhouse and Greenrigg at the start of the month. Firefighters worked extremely hard to keep them under control.

A news report about the fires and photos of the devastation can be seen here:  https://www.edinburghlive.co.uk/news/edinburgh-news/west-lothian-fire-shocking-photos-18338586

Area Commander Farquharson, said: “We will always do our utmost to protect our communities, and to save life and property from harm at all times – but we also need the public to help us.”

We would like you to design a ‘thank you’ card that we can share with the brave fire fighters. It would be great to see some illustrations and tips on how to avoid forest fires (e.g. don’t drop cigarette butts, don’t use BBQs etc)

You can upload your design to your TEAMs page or take a photo and email it to the school wlfallahill-ps@westlothian.org.uk

Showing we care…

At Falla Hill one of our values is all about the sense of ‘belonging’.

At the moment there are many people in care homes in the village who might be feeling a bit lonely as they are not allowed their usual visitors.

Here’s where you can help…

Create a little card or letter to cheer up the residents and put a smile on their faces.

Your card can be dropped off at St John’s PS until the end of June. There will be a ‘drop-box’ to allow for social distancing.
