P2/3 Literacy – Wednesday 27th May 2020

Good morning everyone!

its been a while a since I posted a blog for you all. I hope you are all well!

Today for literacy, I am challenging you to write a poem all about the sea. I would like you to choose a word, any word you like and write an acrostic poem. Now we have done this before. You choose a word and write it like

S

E

A

W

E

E

D

and you must think of a sentence or word that relates to our word. So i might write…

S – seaweed is found in the sea

E- everyone loves to swim in the sea

A- all the fish are colourful in the sea.

I would love to see your poems when you have finished them!

Have a good morning everyone,

Miss Hamill 🙂

A1 and P1 Literacy Task

Good Morning boys and girls,

Lets get energised with Joe again this morning:

It is time for this week’s PM writing task.  Today we are learning about sentences.

At home, support the children to:

  • read the the sentences aloud and identify the sentences that tell who and where.
  • identify the sentences that tell what happened first, then and after that.
  • read the last sentence and find out how the writer felt when the bird flew away.

Now, in your pack you will find ‘The Bird and the Cat – Activity 3’.

The purpose of this task is

a) To write nouns to complete sentences.
b) To write the letters to complete each noun.

Using the word bank at the side, complete the sentences and write the labels on the picture.  Remember to check each sentence makes sense.

At 11am David Walliams will be reading the next 3 chapters of ‘Bad Dad’, so I hope you enjoy snuggling up and listening:

P1 and A1 Tuesday 26th May – Art

Good afternoon everyone! Hope you enjoyed your Oral narrative activity.

We are sure lots of you have some empty egg boxes around for recycling. Why don’t you recycle them by creating something colourful with them?

Here are some ideas or you could use your imagination and create something different.

We would love you to share what you make with us so post your photos on the blog or email them to us. Thank you.

Have fun!

P2/3 Science 26/05/20

Good afternoon everyone. I hope you are having a good day and enjoying the activities being posted so far. This afternoon I have an Under the sea food chains powerpoint for you to have a look through. For your activity, I would like you to have a go at making a food chain. You are free to choose whichever animal you like, but you will need to think carefully about what they eat and where their food comes from. I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

P2/3 Literacy 26/05/20

Good morning boys and girls. Are we all ready for our daily workout with Joe to start the day off? I know I am.

For Literacy this morning I have found a little Under The Sea – What Am I? powerpoint quiz for you to have a go at. Each slide gives you 3 clues to try and work out which sea creature is hiding behind the rocks. Have a try and see how you get on ( I definitely need more practisce with my knowledge of sea creatures!)

If you fancy an extra challenge try out this Under the Sea Riddles worksheet. Good luck!
