This morning we are going to continue with our word boost. our story this week is The Sea Mice and The Stars.

I have attached the worksheet for you all to complete, a definition list for all the parents and also the YouTube video for you to listen to the story.

In addition to our worksheet this week, I would like you all to have a think about some of these questions ;

  1. Who are the main characters in the story?
  2. Where is the story set?
  3. How would you change the ending to the story?

Remember you can send me over any work that you complete.

P2/3 Storywriting 23/4/20

Good morning boys and girls. Are we ready for #PEwithJoe this morning to set us up for the day?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z42mwuX_Xj8

After this I would like you to get creative for storywriting. Imagine you are an astronaut and going on a journey to space – how do you get there? What do you see? How do you feel?

You can choose whether you want to write this in you jotter, type it up, or even create a comic strip to show your adventure. Get your imagination going!

P2/3 21/4/20

Hello again P2/3.

I hope you managed to have a go at the quiz this morning and did some fantastic maths work.

For this afternoon I would like to set you a challenge based on our topic of space – I would like you to create your very own rocket to take you on a journey to space! Be as creative as you can and let your imagination take you to space – draw/paint a picture, make  a model from junk you have lying around or even make one with chairs and blankets you have around your house. I’ll attach some pictures to inspire you. I can’t wait to see what you come up with! If you can, please upload to Twitter for us all to see.

Have fun, Miss McLuckie

P2/3 Literacy 21/4/20

Good morning P2/3!

Are we all ready for our #PEwithJoe this morning? I know I am!

After your morning workout I would like you to have a look through the powerpoint attached below – it’s all about the First Man on the Moon! After that, I would love you to have a go at the quiz to see what you have learned – it’s a bit like the quiz show Who Wants to be a Millionaire and I thought it would be a fun way to do some comprehension.

P2/3 Drama and PE – Thursday 2nd April 2020

This afternoon you are the teachers. You have all worked very hard this year in drama and you all demonstrated excellent mime skills, therefore, i would like you all to teach a member of your family all about mime. Can you mime something to them? Can they guess what you are doing or saying?

Remember no props or talking! Use your faces for expression and lots of movement.

For PE i would like you to go a walk around your street, to a park if there is one close by, and look for signs of spring! What can you see? Take pictures and share them with everyone on twitter.

Have a wonderful afternoon

P2/3 Maths – Thursday 2nd April 2020

Hello everyone,

I hope you all worked really hard during story writing time and came up some with fantastic stories!

For maths today I would like everyone to rewind all the way back to when we were learning symmetry. Today’s challenge is to go on a symmetry hunt around your home. How many lines of symmetry can you find? Can you draw the symmetrical items?

Also remember, you have a math challenge on Sumdog to complete by Friday!

P2/3 Storywriting

Good morning P2/3. I hope you are all well. Who ready for their daily workout with Joe Wicks this morning? I know I am!

For storywriting this morning, I would like you to complete a book review of your favourite book, possibly the one you have been reading over the last week or two. The sheet is in your pack but I have attached a copy for those who have no pack – you could complete in your jotter or even on a sheet of paper.

Book Review

I would really love to read your book reviews so if you can upload a picture onto our Twitter @wlblackburnps that would be fantastic!

Happy Thursday everyone!
