P1-A1 Busy Bees

Good afternoon guys, I hope you are having a good Monday!

I have been spending a lot of my time in my garden during Lockdown and I have noticed lots of little Bees being very busy.

Bees are very important to the environment, do you know why? Check out the link below.

I took these photos of a very busy Bee in my garden can you spot it collecting pollen?

I thought you could have a go at making your own Bee from any recycling material you have at home.  You could also look out for Bees in your gardens or on your daily walk.  If you are able you could try to photograph one and send it to Mrs Bryce. Here is a Bee I made from a toilet roll tube.

Have fun guys

Maisie.

Hello again everyone!

Don’t forget to relax and listen to Elevenses with David Walliams at 11.00am

http://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses/

Or join in with our Friday Assembly on Teams if you have a big brother or sister.

Today for Health and Well Being we are going to take a look at being RESPONSIBLE – what do you think that  means?

  • Talk to a family member about being responsible
  • We are all responsible for something

Have a listen to this fun song about responsibilty

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9m-3LO74G2g

  • Now make a list of at least 3 things you will be responsible for tomorrow
  • It might include :
  • brushing you teeth
  • tidying your room
  • feeding a pet

When you have done these things, tick them off on your list and I bet you will feel a great sense of ACHIEVEMENT – something we were learning about a couple of weeks ago

To finish off listen to the story,  “I’ll do it!” by Brian Moses and Mike Gordon

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpJKWcI6CL8

A1 and P1 Literacy Tasks 04/06/20

Good Morning boys and girls!

I hope you are well and are looking forward to fancy dress PE with Joe:

Now it is time for Literacy and we are going to start off by going on a bus journey!

Now, have a look at pages 20 and 21 of  the Exciting_Learning_Opportunities_Home_Learning_Collection booklet you have in your pack.  If you do not have one in your pack.  Click on the link above.

  • Can you think of any new verses and actions for the song?
  • Plan a bus journey… look at an Atlas, travel brochure or online map to get some inspiration.  Engage in some role play and act out your journey… What do you see?  What can you hear?  What can you smell?  Do you have passengers?
  • Draw a map of your journey and use illustrations to show what your saw.
  • Why not make your own tickets for the bus.  What price will they have on them?
  • Can you design a bus?  You can draw it and perhaps create a model of one.  Use your imagination and think about what special features your bus will have.  Be inventive.
  • Be a scientist!  Find things that roll.  How far can they go? Try rolling things down ramps and along different surfaces (carpet or hard floors).  Which travel the fastest and when do they travel the furthest?

Have fun with your interdisciplinary learning!  We will be back in time for story time with David Walliams!

A1 and P1 Food Technology 04/06/20

Good afternoon boys and girls!

We hope you are ready to have some fun in the kitchen because today we are going to be making a Silly Face Sandwich!

Have a rummage in your fridge and kitchen cupboards and get creative!  While making your sandwich, you will be learning how to spread, slice and cut but please be careful when using knives.  Always get help from an adult.

Remember to take a photo of your creation before you start munching it!  We cannot wait to see the photos you send us!

While you enjoy your sandwich, have a listen to ‘The Sandwich Swap’ by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah and Kelly DiPuccho:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpGhq4hkYHc

So, it is always important to remember that even if you do not like the look of something, if you try it you just might really enjoy it!  Hopefully this will encourage you to try something new to eat… let us know if you do!  We will be back tomorrow for more fun learning at home.

Narrative Language – 4th June

Hi all,

I hope you are all doing well. I have another narrative language task this afternoon for you and we are still focusing on the word when.

First, I have a story for you to listen to all about summer. It’s called Mouse’s First Summer by Laura Thomson.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrGzpvjeTQE

After that, I want you and a parent or carer to see if you can this off all four seasons off the year and think about 3 things that happen during each season.

Lastly, I would like you to draw or make me a nice picture off your favourite season. Get as creative as you like. I hope to see some of your fantastic pictures soon!

A1 and P1 Maths Tasks 04/06/20

Hi there boys and girls!

I hope you enjoyed your work with Unicorn and Haggis this morning!  Before we start our Maths work, let’s cuddle in and listen to today’s story from David Walliams:

https://www.worldofdavidwalliams.com/elevenses/

It is now time for Maths and today we are learning about the seasons.

Let’s start with a song:

Next, visit the BBC Bitesize website to complete the following tasks:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zkvv4wx/articles/zcx3gk7

Now, I would like you to take a piece of paper and fold it in half then fold it in half again so you have 4 sections when you open your paper back up.  In each section, I want you to draw a picture to show what happens in each season.  Show your drawings to a family member and see if they can guess which season is which.  When they get the correct answer, label your drawings by writing “Winter”, “Spring”, “Summer” and “Autumn” in the correct section.

To finish off our morning, let’s go on another Cosmic Yoga Adventure with Enzo the Bee:

We will be back after lunch!  Enjoy!
