For art this afternoon, let’s get outside and use nature to inspire today’s activity! Using flowers, petals, leaves and twigs, create your very own flower people. We cannot wait to see them!
This afternoon I have a nice story for you to listen to. It’s called Nighty Night Circus.
After this I would like you to go around the house and find 5 things you would use before going to bed and 5 things you would use when you wake up in the morning.
You could draw a picture or make a picture outside of your favourite time off the day. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Remember to post your pictures on twitter so I can see them.
Let’s get ourselves woken up with some PE with Joe!
For literacy this morning we are going to do some more work on the phonics and spelling sounds you learned yesterday.
First, Please log into your Studyladder account and complete the tasks that are assigned to you.
Then, I would like you to create a model of something related to the sound you have been learning about. So P1’s, you could choose something that starts with ‘p’, for example panda. P3’s and P7’s you could choose something that has ‘ee’ as the middle or end sound, for example bee or sweet. You can create your model out of anything you like… Lego, play dough, junk from the recycling or anything else you can think of! I cannot wait to see your creations!
Lastly, let’s have some chill time and enjoy another story time with David Walliams:
I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine and keeping well.
Mrs Bryce told me that Superheroes was your theme on Thursday last week and I had a thought, at this time we are all being Superheroes. We are all staying at home, washing our hands and social distancing. We are saving lives, we are superheroes!
HANDPRINT SUPERHEROES.
This little art activity is very simple all you need is some paint, paper and your hands. Choose which superhero you would like to paint or create your very own. Paint your hand and press it on the paper, wait until it dries and add all your detail. Here are some examples below. I look forward to seeing all your work.
Hello A1, I hope you are all well. So last week we made our Bug Hotels – have you had any little visitors? We’ve had a few ants in ours but not much else!
For this afternoon’s task I would like you to try going on a “Minibeast Safari”. Have a think about where different minibeast’s live – under leaves, in the soil, in the grass – and see if you can spot any either in your own garden or when out for your daily mile. You could tick them off the Minibeast Checklist.
If you have a little tub or jar you could even try to catch some of them to bring them to your bug hotel – but remember we must be very gentle with the little creatures!
At 11am, please tune into the Fischy Music virtual assembly:
Then it’s Numeracy Time!
Today we are learning about Volume:
Now, log onto Study Ladder and have a go at your assigned tasks. Before lunch time, lets do our daily mile! Remember to put sun cream on before going outside and drink lots of water!
Laura and Maisie will be posting some fun activities again this afternoon, so keep an eye on the blog.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend! Its is another beautiful day! Let’s start our day with PE with Joe!
Now it is time for Phonics and Spelling.
P1’s – you will be learning the ‘p’ sound today! The action for ‘p’ is holding your finger in front of your mouth and blowing it out like a candle:
Let’s start by singing the Jolly Phonics Songs. Pay extra attention to the song for ‘p’:

Next look inside your Jolly Phonics booklet and on the ‘p’ page, draw 4 pictures of things starting with ‘p’. Underneath, practice writing ‘p’ and on the other side practice writing your ‘p’ words.
P3’s and P7’s – today you are learning the ‘ee’ sound. The action for ‘ee’ is to make donkey ears with your hands and when they are pointing up you say ‘ee’ and when they are pointing down you say ‘or’:
Let’s start by singing the Jolly Phonics song:
Now, inside your pack you will find your ‘Long Vowel Sound E’ booklet (E Vowel). Please complete the first 3 pages.
I’ll be back just before 11am with the details to log onto today’s Virtual Assembly with Fischy Music!
For health and wellbeing today we are going to be focussing on being healthy. I know you have all been keeping your body healthy by doing your PE with Joe every morning so today we are going to be thinking about keeping our minds and hearts healthy.
I want you to go onto Storyberries website and read the story called ‘The Inside Book’ by Mathew Griffiths:
This story focusses on the different feeling you may have about Covid-19. Please spend some time talking about how you feel or have felt during Lockdown.
Now, I would like you to draw a picture to show your boldest memory of Lockdown. Write a sentence or two underneath to describe this memory. Think about what you have been doing while at home and how you have felt. Remember boys and girls, it is so important to talk to others about your feelings. Remember that there are always people who want to help you when you are feeling down. I would like to take another opportunity to thank all of the parents and carers for all your hard work supporting the children throughout this difficult time. You are doing a great job everyone and we miss you all so much!
