A1-P1 easter craft

Good morning A1 and P1 I hope you are all keeping well. I thought as it’s the last day of home learning before the Easter break that we could try some fun Easter craft. Choose from one of these simple craft activities to enjoy or try them all at your leisure. Let’s get crafting.

Easter Activities 03/04/20

Good Morning A1 and P1

I hope you are looking forward to your last day of home learning before the Easter Holidays.  Today, we have a full morning of fun Easter activities for you!  Keep an eye on the blog as Kelly and Mrs Topping will be posting more Easter activities throughout the morning.  If you don’t manage them all today, you could always keep some to do during the holidays.

First up… watch the Easter Story and discuss the main events and characters with a family member:

Do you know that some Christian people roll eggs on Easter Sunday to signify the importance of the giant stone being rolled away from the front of Jesus’ tomb?

Why don’t you give it a try?  Let’s hard boil an egg and decorate it, ready to roll on Easter Sunday.  Remember to send us pictures of your decorated egg!

You can also watch some lovely Easter themed story books online at https://watch.vooks.com/new-releases-1

Enjoy!

Narrative Language – Thursday

Good afternoon

I hope you’re all still doing well and enjoying the activities I’ve been setting for you!

Your story today is Not Now, Bernard by David McKee. I think you will enjoy this one. After you have listened to the story, try and list all the characters.

I have uploaded a task for you and your parents/ carers to complete. Ask them to read you the Who Am I? page and see if you can guess all the people/ animals.

Once you have done that, you can go into your School Closure Jotter and draw your favourite character that your parent/ carer described from Who Am I?

Don’t forget to tag me on twitter so I can see all your amazing work! @wlblackburnps

A1/P1 Lego challenge 01/04/20

Good afternoon A1/P1.  I hope you have enjoyed your morning activities. I have a Lego challenge for you to try out this afternoon. I gave it a go with my son but he wasn’t too impressed with my efforts. I’m sure you will do much better than me.
I look forward to seeing all your rollercoaster pictures.
Kirsty 😊

A1 and P1 – 01/04/20 – Shape

Good morning everyone!

Remember to listen in to Elevenses with David Walliams at 11.00am when you can hear the story, “Nigel Nit Boy”.

For maths today, we will continue to look at 2D shapes

  • First, let’s “Shape Up” with Jack Hartman as he teaches us about 2D shapes. Join in with the actions and make the shapes in the air

  • Think about the properties of each shape – how many sides does each one have?, are the sides straight or curved?
  • Now try making some 2D shapes of your own with some materials you might have at home e.g. beads, sticks, straws, pegs, lego etc. Try to make some really BIG shapes and some really small shapes
  • Next complete pages 4 and 5 from your TeeJay Shape Workbook (A9)

  • Now try some fun 2D shape games

The Big Tree – Learning about Sentences

Parents/carers please ask the children to read/listen to the sentences then:

  • Identify the sentences that tell us who is in the story and where the story is set.
  • Identify the sentences that describe what happened first, then and after that.
  • Talk about how the writer felt about the big tree.

Next, look inside your pack for “The Big Tree – Activity 2”.  Practice reading and writing each key word in the top section then use the key words to complete the sentences in the bottom section.  Make sure you read each sentence back to yourself to ensure it makes sense.  Remember to write your name and date at the top.  Take your time and use your neatest handwriting!
