Halloween!

We had a spectacular spooky scary surprise when all the children dressed up for our Halloween party. The children tried dookin for apples, biting donuts from the string, carving pumpkins & pomegranates and touching a yucky jelly & spaghetti bath.  Lots of the children were using their senses to explore the different textures, smells and tastes. Some tried pomegranates for the first time and loved them.

Stay, Play and Make CAB Competition “Winter” poster

Our parents and children who attend our Stay, Play and Make sessions have designed this wonderful poster to enter into the CAB Competition Calendar for 2018.  Parents have enjoyed the opportunity to join their children in our nursery to experience a variety of art activities.  We also provide Stay, Play and Sing sessions where we have been learning lots of songs old and new and Stay, Play and Move sessions which concentrate on promoting balance, ball skills and coordination.

MacMillan Cake Sale

Our budding bakers are preparing for our Bake Sale which is happening on Thursday 28th September.  The morning sale will begin at 10.45 am with the afternoon sale starting at 2.45 pm.  Any donations of home baking or (faking) would be greatly appreciated as we are hoping to raise lots of money for MacMillan Cancer Research.  There will also be raffle tickets (50p) on sale at the beginning and end of each nursery session.

What an extremely busy afternoon!

The afternoon group worked and played hard today.

After stay and play, we had music and dancing including disco lights!

We wrote labels for our winter wall display.

In small group we talked about materials that would keep us warm in winter.

Then we tried tasting pickled onions just like in the story – I went to the Zoopermarket.

After all that we sang Happy Birthday to Mrs Brogan who celebrated a very special birthday today. 🙂
