I have been feeding our butterfly ripe banana. Did you know that butterflies taste with their feet and they feed from over 100 types of plants which makes them great pollinators. Do you know any fun facts about butterflies? Jen

Our Final butterfly has emerged from its chrysalis! It has lots of beautiful colours. Can you spot the red on the netting? What do you think this could be? Jen

Hello Children,

Our 3 Butterflies are free to fly today. My son helped to release them. They need to be released on a hot day so we are lucky to have the sun again.

I hope they enjoy their freedom. Remember, we still have one caterpillar to emerge so keep a lookout for the updates on this last one.

Good Morning Children.

We now have 3 butterflies. There is 1 caterpillar still to emerge From its chrysalis.
I have provided the butterflies with food. They have fruit, flowers for the nectar and sugar water. I wonder what they like best? Any ideas?

I’m very excited to share this news with you all. We have a butterfly. It has appeared much quicker than expected and unfortunately I missed it emerging from its Chrysalis. I will have to have a closer eye on them.
I wonder who it is…? Alfie, Cherry, Thing 1 or Thing 2? Have a great weekend everyone ☀️ Jen

It was time to move the caterpillars to their new habitat. It should take between 6-11 days for them to emerge as painted lady butterflies. Check out the Twitter for a video of them being moved over. Take care everyone. Jen

Our last little caterpillar has made its chrysalis and I Wonder what will happen next…

I’m beginning to prepare for moving the caterpillars over to their new home. We have three caterpillars ready to move over however we are waiting on 1 caterpillar to form its chrysalis. So we will have to wait until it is ready. I’m sure it won’t take long.
