P3/2 – Week beginning the 12th January 2026
Dear P3/2 families, We have had such a lovely week of learning, and I wanted to share some of our highlights with you. Literacy We focused on developing our sentence‑writing skills. The children practised writing descriptive sentences and using joining words to extend their ideas. For Word Boost, we read The Ugly Duckling and explored the meanings of the following vocabulary: hatched, searched, different, protect, and flock. Numeracy In numeracy, P3 pupils learned how to complete column addition with regrouping, while P2 pupils explored different strategies to help them work out missing numbers in addition sums. Seafield Snippets Friday 16th January 2026
This week, many of our P5-7 children took part in Bikeability sessions. They demonstrated super listening skills and progressed successfully through the programme. The winners of our raffle tickets, Primary 2/3, received their reward this week and enjoyed some additional time outdoors, playing games and demonstrating kindness towards each other. Many classes, have been taking part in Scottish Country dancing during PE lessons and have learnt a variety of ceilidh dances. During our Assembly today, we discussed diversity and spoke about celebrating differences. The children identified differences such as appearance, languages spoken, interests and traditions. What a busy week it’s been in Primary 6/7. Following our discussion, here’s what we would like to share about our learning this week: Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well): We really enjoyed our PE this week as it was our last tag rugby session and lots of people scored tries. In Maths we were learning about mixed and improper fractions and we found this fun to do because we now have a good understanding of it. During outdoor learning we went to ‘Bonner’s Bog’ where we enjoyed experimenting with the different textures of ground and using trees …Police Visit!
This week, both schools had a visit from PC Drummond to learn more about the role of the Police and keeping us safe. P1,2 and 3 learned about what police do, different resources and modes of transport they use to keep our community and others safe. Primary 4-7 learned more about the importance of being safe online and hate crime. We all took away an important message and want to thank PC Drummond for coming in to our school to see us.Latest News

Glow Blogs has been updated to WordPress 6.8.2. This update is mostly a behind the scenes one, you might not notice much difference.Fixed: PDF problem
An issue with pdf uploaded to Glow Blogs has recently developed. Our developers are looking at the issue to create a fix. The issue is that pdfs uploaded to Glow Blogs are ‘truncated’ to one page. We hope this is fixed soon. There are a few workarounds you can use in the meantime.
