  We have enjoyed being with our friends again after the break. Some of us are making great strides in our literacy and have moved onto beginning to work with CVC words and images. We are also continuing to work on our letter formation and practicing writing our name! In Numeracy, we have worked on putting things and images into size order. We have also focused on replicating matchstick patterns, which has also practiced our fine motor skills. We have also found time to play with bouncing putty and sensory tuff trays…along with time on the Kick Pitch and Trim Trail!

• World Book Day Books

  World Book Day takes place on Thursday, 5 March 2026 and we shall be celebrating books and reading in Armadale Academy! As well as the many events taking place in school, we also wanted to share our love of reading with the community. We were therefore delighted to be chosen to be a community hub for World Book Day, allowing us to distribute the books and share the joy of reading with our wider community. • PRIMARY 5 ARE OFF TO CAMP

  Today was an exciting day for our Primary 5s as we headed off on our very first camp trip! The buzz on the bus said it all — everyone was full of excitement and ready for adventure.   When we arrived, our first challenge was making our beds. There were a few tricky duvet covers to tackle, but with teamwork and determination, everyone rose to the occasion! • Camping in the Snow

  What a surprise! Arrived at camp today to snow on the ground. Lots of excited campers! After making our beds (the boys were amazing) and then eating a brilliant lunch, we were straight into activity. Crate Climbing and Low Ropes gave everyone the opportunity to challenge themselves and support others. Below are a selection of pics taken my myself (Mr E). Look out for a further update later!

• Pancake Tuesday in P4/3

  We have had a very busy first day back. Today is Pancake Tuesday and we all had the chance to flip our own pancakes. We know that tomorrow is the beginning of Lent and it is tradition to use up all the ingredients the day before Ash Wednesday and to make pancakes. Some of us liked chocolate spread on our pancakes and some of us liked syrup and some of us had both! At the end of the day we were very lucky to get to watch a show! • Football Champions Football Festival

  This week Primary 5’s “Football Champions” programme came to an end, and what better way to showcase our skills we have learned and developed over the last 12 sessions than to host a mini football festival! Primary 5 have the best time working with David, a coach from West Lothian Community Foundation to develop leadership, confidence, and football skills.
