  • P6/7 School Camp – Dalguise – Day 1

We’ve had a great first day at school camp with lovely weather and great activities. We all took part in abseiling today and also did a ‘survivor’ session where we were den building and learning about fire lighting. This evening we had a “balloon splash” activity where we played various games to try earn point and coins which would allow us to buy resources to protect a water balloon from bursting when it was dropped from a height! We’re all looking forward to another great day of activities tomorrow and lots of sunshine again too. Some photos from todays activities …

  • The fun continues…

We have had to drag ourselves away from the camp fire tonight, where we sang songs, told jokes, played games and toasted marshmallows, to head up for supper. Roll on more hot chocolate. What a fantastic day two at camp. We can’t seem to wipe the smiles of our faces. Sun is shining, which made our raft building and catwalk activities even more enjoyable. • Primary 1

When celebrating Earth Day recently, the pupils discussed how they could look after our planet. Some suggestions included turning off water, switching off lights, not dropping litter and not wasting food. To celebrate, they made Earth Day hats and created seed bombs which they planted in our P1a flower bed. They talked about what our seeds needed to help them grow – light, water, air and warmth. Hopefully there will be a colourful display in the months

Primary 2 had a very exciting week last week…here’s a wee snippet of some of the things we got up to! Structure of the Earth As we have recently began our new volcanoes topic, we began with looking at the structure of the earth and tectonic plates in order to discuss how volcanoes are formed. We tied this lesson in with STEM and used our collaboration skills to create our own playdoh; discussing how the ingredients mix to form a new solid. We formed our playdoh earths by layering each part with each colour representing the inner core, outer

  • Celebrating success – Sports in P7

With our new ‘Sports’ conext, it seems fitting to post about our success across a variety of sports in Primary 7. Here are some of our P7 learners celebrating some amazing achievements in swimming, motocross, ballet, skiing and dance. The pupils chose to learn about Sports as our final context this term; we are researching sporting history, equipment, how sports have evolved and gained popularity. All of us are working on a personal project this term and we can’t wait to share our learning when we complete them. Some  pupils  have  already  brought  in some  of  their  sporting  equipment  to
