  • Primary 1B Learning Highlights 27th March 2026

This week we have been learning about all the events in Holy Week. We drew pictures on a cross to illustrate these events and we added lots of detail. We also created some beautiful paintings, linked to our work on Good Friday, to display in the area. We have been revising our sounds and addition/subtraction skills. We had a special egg hunt in the area where we had to work together to solve the calculations and then to find pictures to match the words on our sheets. It was great fun! We also used eggs with picture magnets in them …

  • Ness- Easter Fun

What an incredible week in Ness Class! St Mary’s Got Talent: Well, the pupils in Ness certainly have talent as Laura impressed the judges with her dance routine. She was very happy with her performance! Dominic and Hunter had the crowd in stiches with their stand-up routine. Lot’s of jokes and hilarity abound! Then today, we all took turns to roll our decorated eggs down the hill at school. We learned that this signified the stone rolling away for the Tomb on Easter Sunday.   We wish everyone a Happy and Peaceful Easter Holiday.

  • Meldrum Messages – Friday 27th March 2026

We’ve had a jam packed last week of term!  Our P3 pupils started to practise for their class assembly and are enjoying songs linked to their Egyptians topic.  P1 took part in some egg hunts and had to sound out the words that they found inside the egg.  P2 were super excited during outdoor learning on Thursday as they thought that they had discovered the Easter bunny had been in the playground! We held a meeting for parents of P7 pupils going on the residential to Dalguise in April and shared key and important safety messages.  Anyone who couldn’t attend …

  • Friday 27th March Primary 2/3

The last week of term has been a busy one in P2/3.  Here’s what we would like to share about our learning: Tickled Pink (things that we feel went well): We learned about Fair Trade and we now know what symbol to look for on products we buy. For our writing session this week we wrote persuasive texts about why we would like a class pet.  We managed to think of lots of strong arguments and used different sentence starters to make it more interesting. We enjoyed working in random groups to complete a Rich Task in Maths which involved …

  • Friday 27th March

This week Primary 7 had their final numeracy transition with Mr McConville. In this session we were learning about proportions. On Monday, Miss Thompson from DCHS came to our class to answer all our questions about high school. In Art, we had to do a painting that represented calm. For this we used light pastel colours. The big excitement this week was finally getting all the information about Dalguise. We are really looking forward to going for two nights at the end of April. For outdoor learning we had lots of fun creating an Easter egg hunt for our Buddies …
