Offsite Provision

Off-site Placements

In Stirling Council, we aim to meet the needs of pupils within their local mainstream setting. For a small number of pupils, an off-site placement may be required for part of their learning journey. We have a limited number of placements in our Support Bases.

Our Offsite Bases provide a nurturing, trauma informed learning environment for children and young people where mainstream education is unable to meet their current needs. Our practice is underpinned by the principles of Neuro Sequential Model in Education where with a greater understanding of how trauma and stress can impact brain development, we are better able to meet learner needs. Support in our offsite bases can be short term, or for longer periods of time, but our aim is to equip pupils with the skills, learning and resilience they require to return to mainstream education or on to a positive post school destination.

SISS Millhall Base

SISS’s primary school provision, Millhall is co-located with Fallin Primary and has capacity for up to 10 learners. We have a team of teaching staff, support assistants and visiting sports workers and inclusion support workers, led by a principal teacher (PT) who work collegiately with families and partners to ensure high quality, individualised educational programmes for learners.

SISS Chartershall Base

SISS’s secondary school provision, Chartershall has capacity for 18 learners the majority of whom are secondary school aged. The building provides a base for educational programmes in small group settings and individualised activities.

SISS Riverside Base

SISS offers a small number of Intensive Support Programmes for children and young people who are better able to make progress within a safe environment with lower levels of social demand. Our Intensive Support Programmes are delivered by a small consistent team, in small measurable steps, helping our children and young people make transitions from school environments, home or residential settings.
