We have been learning about rhythm.
We have tapped a rhythm together. It was tricky keeping together!
We have kept the beat by tapping one after each other. We did very well and really enjoyed using the sticks.
We have been looking for and identifying minibeasts. We looked at their habitats. Despite the cold weather we have found lots hiding in different places.
We decided to make homes for them to hibernate in.
Here they are
We made ours by the wall.
We made ours in the forest.
We made ours under the trees.
We all had lots of fun!
We have been measuring trees and recording what we found using tallies.
We measured trees that were bigger and smaller than our hug!
We found that most of the trees in the school grounds are bigger than our hugs.
We worked well with our partners and had lots of fun.
We needed to collect wood for our bonfire. Luckily it was very windy yesterday so there was lots of wood to pick up that had fallen off trees.
We needed to collect wood so we could bring it in so it could dry because dry wood burns better than wet wood.
We sorted the wood because thick wood burns slowly and thin wood burns quickly. We will burn the thin wood first and then the thick wood. We are looking forward to it.
We learned how to use a peeler safely and we made skewers that we will use to toast bread and marshmallows on our bonfire.
We have been learning about shapes that will tile.
We worked with a partner to find tiling patterns outside.
We noticed them in lots of different places.
Bricks in walls tile and the rope squares tile on the climbing frame.
When we came inside we had fun creating out own tiling patterns using 2D shapes.
We worked together to collect natural things. We didn’t pick anything because we care for the plants that are growing.
We decided what picture we wanted to make and then we arranged the things we had collected to make our picture.
We didn’t stick it but Miss Jones photographed our pictures so we could keep them.
Thank you to everyone who has supported our Fairtrade shop. We have raised lots of money for Fairtrade and the shop will stay open until the end of next week or until all stock is sold.
The children in the Fairtrade group have enjoyed selling the lovely things in the shop.
