Check-in

Good morning everyone! I hope you are well. It’s check-in time again. Please leave a comment today or tomorrow to let myself and your classmates know how you are and possibly what you have been up to. I heard from so much more of you last week which is fantastic, so thank you for that. I hope to hear from just as much or if not more of you this week! 🙂

Don’t forget to join in on your Tuesday Challenge. You have 2 days left to comment your positive quite on the Tuesday Challenge post and then I will be choosing my favourite to go at the top of next weeks Home learning post!

Tuesday Challenge

As you know, each week when I post home learning activities, I always start with a positive quote. This week, your challenge is to make up your own positive quote. You can comment these below and I will choose my favourite to post at the start of next weeks home learning log. You have until Friday to comment so you can take some time to think about it. I hope to have lots of quotes to choose from! Good Luck!

Also just a quick note for anyone who is interested:

John Lewis have a competition on just now in which you are asked to design your own Superbear! Here is the link if you would like to take part.

Home Learning 20.04.20

Good morning everyone! I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday as much as you could and that you are still keeping safe. Feel free to comment below some of the things you did during your holiday to keep myself and your classmates up to date. I made sure to keep up with the Joe Wicks workouts and some yoga everyday. I did some baking and also made sure I got some fresh air each day.

As with previous Home learning weeks, lets start with some positivity.

Below I will post some work for this week. Remember these are suggestions and you do not have to choose from everything that is given but try to do some work each day.

Triangles: Triangles 20.04.20

Circles: Circles 20.04.20. Here is an example for the circles on how to lay out these questions. Just a quick reminder – Circles example 20.04.20

Squares: Squares 20.04.20

Please also make sure you are revising your times tables.

Remember to READ, READ, READ as much as you can!

Reading:

Below I will list some ideas of Reading Comprehension tasks you can do. This could be based on a book you are currently reading or a favourite book. You do not have to choose all of these but maybe choose around 2 or 3 of these tasks to do this week. Don’t worry if you can’t print the worksheet out, it is just an example and your work can be written into your jotter.

Spelling:

Continue using the spelling grid you were given to choose some spelling activities throughout the week – spelling grid

Red: (u) put, push, pull, cushion, full, bush, awful, bull.

Blue: (ea) bread, head, deaf, heavy, dead, instead, pleasant, pheasant, weather.

Green: (kn) knock, know, knee, knight, kneel, knew.

Writing:

Write about the best thing you did during your holidays. I know the holiday was different from what we all expected but choose one thing you did that you really enjoyed and write a paragraph explaining it. Remember to use VCOP to make it interesting to the reader and include your thoughts and feelings.

HWB:
  • Watch Newsround and take part in the quiz on Friday.
  • Continue using the online links for some physical exercise (Joe Wicks etc) or come up with your own ideas to make sure you are staying active (e.g. obstacle course, walking)
  • Keep note of a gratitude journal. Write down something you are grateful for each day – Gratitude Journal
  • Continue to help around the house.
  • Mindfulness colouring.

Art:

Below are some ideas of Art and Craft ideas you can try at home. You could choose one to try out this week. Remember you can send pictures to the school email of your finished product (gw18burnsidephotos@glow.sch.uk). I would love to see them! You may have another art and craft idea you want to try – this is absolutely fine, you can still send pictures so we can see your hard work!

Friday Check-in

Hi everyone. Well that’s another week of online learning down. I hope you are well and keeping yourself busy. Time for another check-in to see how we have all be doing. I have been doing a Joe Wicks workout or yoga everyday this week. My muscles aren’t as sore this time so I must be getting used to it! I have been catching up with friends and family using Facetime and making sure that I am getting out for some fresh air.

Please comment below to let me know how you are and what you have been up to.

Lastly, as you know today would have been our last day of school before the 2-week Easter break.

There will be no work posted the next 2 weeks but if you want to keep yourself busy you can try some of the challenges or links previously posted! I hope you all enjoy the holiday as much as you can. It won’t be the holiday that we all expected but take time to spend with your families doing some fun things at home. Keep yourself safe during the next 2 weeks and I hope to hear from you or see you all very soon. Missing you all very much!

Miss M 🙂
