Clever kids!

Zac has been so busy. Naming all of the body parts and he made sole cakes with his sister. He then relaxed in his paddling pool after his busy day. Well earned Zac!

Leonardo has been having lots of fun with his family. He had been exploring using lots of sensory play, playingbwith sand and playdough and he has been enjoying stories with mum. Fantastic Leonardo, great learning!

Challenge accepted!

Wow! We have been so impressed with your dens. Well done, you are making us proud everyday.

Here are some of the dens we have been sent so far…

Katy accepted the challenge and built her den inside. Excellent!

Jackson built his den outside and called it ‘Jackson’s Jail’. Great job.

Grace made her den outside. She called it ‘Grace-opolis’. She would take rainbow bear for cuddles, a game and  sword to protect her people. Fantastic!

Sophia made her den in the garden. She named it ‘Scotland World’ and shared it with her brother Joshua. Super work.

Ava had a beautiful den in her back garden. She would take her teddies, babies and pink blanket. While in her den she likes to listen to ABBA or Queen. Wonderful!

Sofia build her den outside and called it ‘sister’s world’s because she wanted to share it with her sister. She would take Thumper, pillows and Stitch with her into the den and listen to nursery rhymes. We love it.

Keep sending your den photos and I’ll post more at the end of the week. 👍

New learning grid

Good morning boys and girls, I hope you are well. I have made a new learning grid full of lots of ideas for your home learning. You can do as many as you want and it’s always good to get an adult involved. Most of these activities need little or no resources, so dont worry about having things in the house. Use what you have and I hope you have lots of fun!

You cam download, save or print the document using the link below.

Designer dens🏘🏕

  1. Monday Challenge

I hope you all had a lovely Easter break and enjoyed the sunshine.

Today I have a very special challenge for you and this week you might see some familiar faces.

Build your own den. Using things from around your house build a den. This can be a cosy space for you to take your favourite things and relax or it can be a fun den for you to play in with the people at home. You can build it inside or outside.

Things to think about for your den:

  • What will you call your den? Make a sign and attach it to your den.
  • What three things will you take into your den?
  • What songs will you sing/ listen to in your den?
  • Who will be allowed into your den?

The ladies loved this challenge and decided to have a go themselves.

Miss McMenemy decided to build hers outside. She has a sign and the three things she took into her den were her dog Murphy, a book and her sunglasses.

Mrs Burns did hers outside on her decking. She decided to take her dogs, a nice drink of juice and her nursery work.

Miss Revie built her den in her back garden, she made a sign from loose parts👏 She would take a cup, teabag and a teapot so she could enjoy a cup of tea in her den.

Miss McAteer built her den indoors. Her children helped her build and make a sign. She would take a book, a light and a shoe to practise trying her laces.

Mrs Hutcheson and her son built a den in their back garden and named it Hutcheson fort. It looks very cosy. The three things she would take are tea, a book and things to do some drawing.

Miss Sherry built her den in her living room for her teddy Brendan. It looks very colourful 😁 she would takes some books and music to listen to.

Ms McDougall built her den and made a lovely sign with some help from her daughters. She made hers outside in the sun. She is sharing her den and the things she would take in are; a cup of tea, her kindle to do some reading and her Stitch teddy.

Mrs Canning made her den in her living room and made a welcome sign out of buttons 👍 In her den she has taken her favourite reading book, a coffee and some gingerbread cake.

Great work ladies and we all had so much fun building them. I can’t wait to see what you build. Happy den building 💕

Fun and games during Easter!

We have loved seeing your Easter photos and seeing how much fun you are having.

Leo James made a lovely Easter Bonnet and decorated an egg.

Sophia was in the Rutherglen Reformer for her amazing rainbow in her window. She has been having Easter fun  with her family and painted some eggs to roll.

Maya has been keeping busy with her learning and doing a great job. Her dad made her a special treat, she had a McDonalds. She made some Easter crafts.

Fun with flowers

This weeks activity comes from Miss Revie. She has been spending lots of time in her garden making it beautiful and has noticed all of the lovely flowers. This week she has found an activity for you to create your own flower painting, so you can enjoy them all year round.

All you need is-

*paper

*paint

*paintbrush

*fork

Choose which colours you like, use your paintbrush to create stems and using the fork, dip the head of the fork into paint and create the flowers.

Can you guess what flowers they are?

Have fun, remember to send any pictures of your painting to the nursery email.

Mid week challenge!

Since bookbug have a session online for Easter I thought that instead of giving you another story I would set you a challenge instead. A challenge to get you thinking and active. This challenge has two options- one for inside and one for outside.

This week I’m sending you on a scavenger hunt. Fun for all the family.

Please leave a comment to let us know how you get on.

Remember if you take part outside – wash your hands as soon as you get home.
