Commonwealth Sports Day

The sun shone and the sport was fantastic as our Commonwealth Sports days went spectacularly well.

Well done to all the competitors who took part over the two days.  Water and sun block were the order of the day as we competed in Brazilian style heat!

I hope all of the pupils and families enjoyed it.  Please feel free to post your comments here or at Mr Bamford’s Blog.

Sports Days

The weather forecast is looking good for Monday and Tuesday so hopefully all should be well for the big event.

Good luck to our 20 countries.  Remember to wear your colour to represent your commonwealth nation.  After your registration is done, we will meet in the dining room and then parade out. The first 10 teams will come into the MUGA with me for the track events and the other 10 will go off to their first field event.  Then the hooter will mark the end of each event.   Mark up your scores and move onto the next event and immediately start scoring points.

Remember, also that the art exhibition will be on 11am-6pm tomorrow and 9.30am-4pm on Tuesday.

We’re all really looking forward to it.

Let the games begin!

Hallside Champions 2013-14

The day continued with a successful theme as the Senior Boys Football Team completed their season with a final 3-1 victory over Calderwood, ending the season with a 100% points total and confirming them as league champions.

I’ll post more pictures from today over the next few days.

Well done boys.

Senior Boys Football Team Qualify for Finals

Well done to the boys football team who travelled to Dumfries today to compete in the South of Scotland SSFA Regional Finals.  They played exceptionally well, remained undefeated, without conceding a goal and topped the table by 4 clear points.  This means they have now qualified for the National Finals, placing them in the top 8 schools in the whole country.

(more details and photos to come soon on Mr Bamford’s blog).
