We continue our brilliant Science and Engineering Week with the P7s working with Susie Burr, looking at the rich nature of the Galapagos Islands and studying snails. We also have P2s, P4s,P5s and P7s all meeting Susan Stanford, who is a science lab tecnhician. Pupils have been carrying out investigative science experiments this morning and Susan will be demonstrating some exciting scientific effects this afternoon. Susan is here all week and will meet every class in the school twice.

Science & Engineering Week off and running
Thank you, in advance, to all our volunteer visitors who will be coming in to school over the next week to share their expertise with the pupils.
Today we’ve had Pat Duchart doing wax work workshops with the P3s, Mr McNeill talking about production engineering with the P3s, P4s, P5s and P6s, Mr McCulley who is telling the P1s and P2s about refrigeration transport and Dr Bolanos, who is carrying out bateria workshops with the P6s and talking to the P7s about pharmacological bacteriology.
Lots more coming next week.
World Book Day
Clyde 4-0 Elgin 0 (The Hallside Effect!)
Well done to Clyde who won 4-0 today as more than 100 visitors from Hallside (pupils, parents, aunties, grannies, grandpas and staff) cheered them on.
Our future football stars performed their 10 second challenge on the park at half time and Terry and Lauren were the official club mascots.
Thank you to all the adults who came along to lend their support. Thanks too to Gordon Mason and Tom McKenna and all the very friendly people at Clyde for inviting us along for free and making us feel so welcome.
Click here to visit Mr Bamford’s blog and find out more plus see pictures of all the fun.
As always, the pupils were impeccable and a credit to the school with their behaviour and enthusiasm.
Let’s go Clyde, let’s go!
Clyde vs Elgin Trip
We’re off to cheer on Clyde FC again tomorrow. We’re taking 98 pupils, parents and staff to go along and lend our support. Lauren Thompson and Terry McMillan will be the offical team mascots on the day and 22 of our pupils will be going onto the pitch at half time to take part in a 10 second challenge.
I’ll post some of the best pictures at Mr Bamford’s Blog next week.
For those going, see you at the school at 1pm. Remember to wrap up warm. You can bring snacks and drinks, but remember no cans or bottles allowed. We should be back at the school again at around 5:30.
There is a brilliant article about the school’s visit to Clyde on the Clyde FC website.
