My Money Week Entrepreneurial Homework Challenge

Next week, the ‘My Money Week’ homework challenge will  be launched, ahead of ‘My Money Week’ starting on 12th March.

Pupils will all be issued with £1 and the challenge will be to take that one pound and, using entrepreneurial and business skills, to make that £1 grow into as much money as possible.  Parents and families are perfectly welcome to join in and make it a joint venture.  There will be awards for the highest amount raised in every class and the most original idea.

Cross Country Team Announced

Hallside will be taking their biggest ever cross country team to the Cambuslang and Rutherglen Sports Council Cross Country Event on 8th March at Lifestyle Eastfield.

So many athletes put in brilliant qualifying times in last week’s trials that we have had to book a bigger bus!

Full team line up can be found on Mr Bamford’s Blog.

Hallside FP Stars for Scotland

Former Hallside pupil Duncan Weir, yesterday made his full international debut for the Scotland Rugby team in the RBS Six Nations match against France at Murrayfield. Unfortunately France won the game 23-17, but Duncan played well when he came on as a second half replacement.

Duncan plays for Glasgow Warriors and, clearly, he is going from strength to strength. He was very sporty when he was here and we are all very proud of his achievements.

Well done Duncan.

Euroquiz 3rd Place

Well done to the euroquiz team, four p6 pupils: Jenna Murray, Megan Muir, Rhys Conner and Tony Montgomery who finished third in the euroquiz. They studied very hard and answered a lot of really tough questions. In the end there were only 3 points in it.

Well done, or should I say “Bravo!”
