Good Morning

Morning everyone I hope you are all well. Just a wee reminder that all tasks, links and information will be shared via your child’s Google Classroom. They can access this through their Glow launchpad. Look for Google Classrooms, select P5/6 and look through the stream and  classwork tab files. Any issues please let me know.

Just to reiterate, the tasks are suggestions. Some parents enjoy the structure as it allows them to work from home and breaks up the day a little, whilst others are enjoying the chill out time catching up on all the things we never get around to doing in our busy lives.  Remember learning through play and learning life skills are hugely important too. Do whatever you feel your family needs at this time.

Please don’t hesitate to get in contact if there’s anything you need.

Take care everyone.

Thursday

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well.

Here is a list of possible activities for today. Feel free to mix and match, spend time learning and playing at home and enjoy the opportunity to develop and follow new interests. Cook together, set chores, tell the time, build dens, paint, play music – all the fun things we never quite get around to in our normal busy days!

Please remember that learning through play and real life scenarios and maintaining good mental health is of huge importance and benefit in these times. Children (and adults) will be finding it hard to adjust and adapt. Having happy, resilient children when we return to school will allow them to catch up on any missed learning so please don’t worry about this.

As always, any questions or comments please get in touch.

Tuesday 24th March

Good morning everyone. I hope you are all well.

I will continue to provide a suggested daily timetable with tasks you may wish to complete. Tuesday 24th Plan Some have said they enjoy the structure that it is giving to their day but remember it is just a suggestion. Do what you need to do in these times. Google Classroom will have more up-to-date information/links, will have the tasks and links posted and allows questions and comments to be asked quickly. Feel free to email me with any questions you may have.

Please remember that learning through play and real life scenarios and maintaining good mental health is of huge importance and benefit in these times. All children will be finding it hard to adjust and adapt. Having happy, resilient children when we return to school will allow them to catch up on any missed learning so don’t worry about this.

When we work together at Hallside, everything is within our REACH.

P.S. There are a few issues if you are already logged in with a device connecting to google – it needs to be your child’s GLOW account that it’s connected to. My experience seems to be that it automatically reverts back to my personal one and I need to change it over.

Monday 23rd March

23rd of March-2

Hello everyone, I hope you are all safe and well. I have provided a suggested daily timetable (click on the link above) specifically for P5/6 work. This can be completed in conjunction with the more general school one given out last week. I understand that the next few weeks will be tricky and not all children will be able to complete all the tasks at all times. Encourage your child to check Google Classroom where they can find more specific links to any materials they may require and ask any questions they may have about their learning. More importantly encourage your child to take the opportunity to learn things that interest them through play and exploration, learn important life skills (yes like hoovering) and find the time to read books they enjoy!

You can currently access ALL games and access reading and spelling activities for the time being.
This is a good platform and allows me to see your progress too.

ps I’ve opened up House for during the day too.
