Day 1 – Monday

Day 2 – Tuesday

The challenge was to build a bridge using the tubes, cups and tape. The children loved working with this and it developed into creating tunnels. The bridge theme is going to continue through the week using different building materials. Fantastic to see the children problem solving and working together to create bridges.

Day 3 and 4

TECHNOLOGY – we used the Nursery iPad to take photos of our favourite toys or places to play. We also had to type in our name using the iPad keyboard so that we knew which photo belonged to each of us. We enjoyed doing this and developed our communicating and leading Meta-skills. Krissi and Maisie picked up the process how to type and save quickly and became the experts at helping others. Here is the link to our video:

ENGINEERING – the bridges theme continued but the resource changed to Lego and a paper river was added. Children had to create a bridge over the river. They loved this and went onto create boats for the river and a helicopter to rescue anyone who fell in.

SCIENCE – We used baking soda mixed into our paint to paint pictures. We then used droppers with vinegar in them to make fizzy paint.

“It fizzles!”

“Mine bubbles better cause it is thicker.”

Small groups also made slime and got to feel the texture. We loved playing with it; stretching it, making holes in it, seeing how thin we could make it.
