Primary 6 have spent term 1 completing Young Leaders training with active schools. They used their training this week to lead a rotation of group games for P2 to try out. This was a huge success with both classes really enjoying the games.
Next term they will be play leaders at lunch break in the P1/2 playground which they are really looking forward to. Well done P6 we are very proud of you!
The class have enjoyed learning different methods to add and subtract numbers. Some examples include split strategy, column method, jump strategy, bar model and compensation method. Their fantastic work can be seen in their maths journals. I think they enjoyed using chalk pens to ‘draw’ on the table to show their different strategies. Well done P6!
Primary 6 & 7 had lovely weather for their school trip to Sumburgh. We loved playing on the beach and bird watching around the lighthouse.
We were lucky enough to get a guided tour of the engine room, Smiddy, Marine Life Centre and lighthouse at Sumburgh Head. Then we enjoyed some games with Active Schools at the park. A fun day had by all! 🙂
