We have been working on our collaboration and communication skills while learning how to code our Microbits. We made them into dice, which rolled a new number when shaken. We played a game which practised addition. The first person to 100 won!

PE Update – Hockey

This term, we are focusing on invasion games, with hockey and basketball forming the main areas of learning. We began with a week of skills development to build the core attributes required for success in both sports. These included cooperation, dodging, weaving, attacking, defending, communication, and decision-making.

We then moved on to hockey. Throughout this block, pupils have been building their confidence in controlling the ball, passing accurately, and dribbling effectively. They have had regular opportunities to practise and refine these skills before applying them in fun, competitive games. As the unit progresses, pupils will continue to develop their teamwork, spatial awareness, and tactical understanding of the game.

Creatures!

Primary 5 have been hunting for invertebrates as part of their living things topic. The wild life area is teeming with mini beasts. The class have had great fun finding and identifying them.
